New York felt safe. I didn’t know then that there were more than 1,700 murders in 1979 (breaking a record that had been set seven years earlier), but it wouldn’t have meant anything to me anyway. I moved into a filthy railroad flat in the Donkey Happy HalloThanksMas Halloween Thanksgiving Christmas Premium T-Shirt and I love this East 20s overrun by cockroaches with bars on the windows that would never have come off in a fire, and I began my long-awaited city life. The rent was $325.

Forty years later, I’m back in a small town. It’s a small town on Long Island, as different as can be from the Donkey Happy HalloThanksMas Halloween Thanksgiving Christmas Premium T-Shirt and I love this small town of my birth. There are artists and writers. New Yorkers, really. People who still live there part time, or used to live there. But it is small, and like Dallas, the commercial heart is just one stretch with one stoplight. There are only a few stylish stores. The deli does not have gluten-free bread.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
