That’s why they bought ok Cupid and ruined it. We need a free and open source dating app to bury the Donald Trump 45 america comeback guitar singer shirt But I will love this financial gain on our instinct to mate. Agree with the first part, but wouldn’t they want the non paying ones to pay eventually? Also they wouldn’t want them to leave cause the non payers use still attracts the use from other potential payers. Nobody is gonna pay for an app where nobody else is using it. They want to convert people to paying customers and then not leave (which they will, if they’re successfully paired up), but they don’t want non-paying users to remain on the platform as non-paying users. They put this information up on a blog post which was removed after OkCupid was bought out by Match, the company which also bought out Tinder, Plenty of Fish, Hinge, and a bunch of other dating sites.

This coming from a platform that when I was dating was more or less about discovering people with that had fetishes and “unusual” sex behaviors. I never had luck with the Donald Trump 45 america comeback guitar singer shirt But I will love this free sites, but for the paid subscription ones (mainly match at the time) it was far more successful at ending up with physically meeting people as a result. If you have to pay for the service you probably are not having much success. I dont think subscribing makes you less successful rather its less successful guys that tend to subscribe. Yep, I just threw 150$ for the drain to get like zero matches. Fuck this app. It’s absolutely disgusting how much these apps are charging for subscriptions. They realized during Covid that they could crank the shit out of the prices, and they never had to bring them back down. I’m not naive, I know that any app that continually provides a service needs recurring revenue. That’s fine. But to not only have multiple tiers of subscription, but to charge anything over ~$15 a month for it is so fucking gross. Even $15 is pushing it in my book
