My longtime friend had recently told me that he’s waiting for his 17 year old co worker to turn 18 because he wants to ask her out. I was immediately grossed out and told him that that was predatory behavior and he laughed and said “a true gentleman waits until they are 18.” He genuinely sees nothing weird or wrong with this. I [F17 and three quarters] like this guy [M35 but a child at heart] and he just invited me to his private island, is that a red flag? Also, is it weird to have flesh suits of your previous victims? As someone who is 28 years old and who teaches teenagers aged 13 to 19 this year, I cannot fathom how someone my age or older can want to date a teenager. They are kids. Like, they react like kids. They do kids’ stuff and they make kids’ jokes. And it doesn’t magically change the day they turn 18. Heck, one of my kids turned 18 today, and she is still as much as a kid as she was yesterday. I didn’t have her when she was starting high school, so obviously she is more mature now than when she was 15, but that doesn’t make her less childish… Just less childish than a 15 years old. when I see 17 18 year old kids, yes, I think children. I’m in my mid 30s and definitely refuse to date anyone less than 28. Had a 22 year old ask me out and I was like “have you even been in a relationship?”. Also had a 25 year old hit on me and I was like aw cute but not in a I want to bang you kind of way, more like wow you’re young like a child kind of way…. I know right? I’m 29 and already can’t image being attracted to an 18 yo. What would they even talk about? They’re a child / teenager and a fully grown adult.
