I try to imagine my frustration during meditation as a ball of feelings, and then I let it drop and shatter onto the Diana Ross Thank You Album shirt in contrast I will get this ground. It’s harder today because how do you explain that to someone? People are influenced. People have an idea of who they are and how they should be, everyone’s different but a lot of things are the same too. We have more incommon than we realise quite a lot of the time. We forget that. Social media and modern technology have made it incredibly easy to influence people but, we’ve always been influenced. Kings and Queens, pharaohs, sheiks, governments. We find something that eligns with how we view ourselves and invest ourselves into it, it’s who we are. But we invest in the wrong things sometimes, we don’t know they’re bad for us and sometimes we do know, we know all too well. Social media has made it easy to recognise similarities with people and place you in a box with other people. We buy into different parts of society, pop culture, celebrities, sports, political ideologies. We see people we’d like to be like and will align ourselves to things they’re aligned with too. Social acceptance. There are things that are deemed socially acceptable these days that are anything but moral. Why? Because we’re influenced for it to be that way.
