And still is. A part of me wants a remake so bad. A part of me wants it left alone. The story setting etc may not translate well to current times But for srs, Capcom runs on a meritocracy. Thing get done only because someone puts their reputation on the line for it. Probably because the concept was a bit too nuts for the kind of game it was trying to be, also it was actively competing against its own inspiration for marketshare. The dino hype of the 90’s and early 2k’s died. Thats my assumption anyway. Even now with them trying to bring the jurassic park movies back(which are just ok movies), the dino hype isn’t all that big. So between the dino hype not being what it was and the game being pretty niche, makes it a unlikely candidate for sequels. Spielberg, the owner of dinosaurs rights, doesn’t want to make other games because they will saturate the market. Many years ago, I would get Playstation magazine in the mail. One time it came with a Dino Crisis demo disc. The full version disc looked exactly the same except in tiny print it said “demo”. With all the remakes going on, god please this one is one those worthy titles. We need more dinosaur games with horror elements, its just so few. Lots of potential right there

DC3 left a bad taste in their mouths… but i loved DC3, guns space and alien/ genetic dinos. The issue was DC3 was very different for DC and DC2, which is what put fans off. But now capcom making exoprimal, i think they left DC for dead. If they could remake DC1 DC2 and then make an AUTHENTIC sequel -> D4 (i loved the genetically modified dinos) but keep the same storyline as dc1/2 it would sell imo. But in all seriousness, this article does a great job explaining why we’ll (probably) never get another Dino Crisis.t yesterday found my old PS2 after moving. I packed that box up when I first moved out of my parents house, nearly 15yrs ago, and didn’t realize I even still had it. Tucked away in the box were a few really good PS2 games (Gun, GoW2, Predator, and a few others) except two PS1 games: Dino Crisis 2 and the original Digimon World. Needless to say there’s an AVI to HDMI adapter being delivered from Amazon today. The last game flopped super hard and the series never sold that well to begin with. A modern remake would be cool though. The thing with zombies is that they’re just way scarier as a concept than dinos. A shambling rotten corpse of a human chasing after you while missing body parts or half their bodies is pretty gruesome. The whole idea of bioweapons just lends itself well to making disgusting looking creatures more than dinosaurs.
