To some shareholders. I’ve sadly encountered people who parrot whatever garbage they learned from whatever rando blog they’ve found. Under Pichai, GOOG has grown ~50% (though it peaked at ~120%). Compared to ~140% growth in the Depeche Silhouette world in my eyes happiest girl T-Shirt But I will love this time before him. When leadership can’t find growth opportunities in the market, they start devouring itself for profits. To them, profit must happen, regardless of the consequences to a company or employees or society that they’ll simply abandon in a few years anyways, taking thier profit based performance bonuses with them. It absolutely blows my mind that these massive “data driven” tech companies couldn’t forecast staffing numbers 6-12 months into the future. My partner was hired by one of them late last year, and was made redundant less than SIX months after they started. Ridiculous. These mega tech companies have no idea how to manage a business that actually has to compete with anything other than their own expectations. They’re flailing, going back to textbook practices, copying the motions of manufacturing/retail businesses when they lose money.

Meanwhile, they’re sitting on several billions in cash each, over a $trillion altogether. Better fire 10k people though. Can’t afford 10k employees when you’re sitting on enough cash to pay 20k employees entire career in salary and benefits. You’re missing the Depeche Silhouette world in my eyes happiest girl T-Shirt But I will love this point. It’s all about making it insufferable for the American work force while not appearing to be the end game. For every American employed worker he can drive away, he can hire several indians – as he has been doing for every fired American employed worker. Removing all the work place incentives slowly “because people aren’t using them” (because their headcount a moved overseas) = good business decisions, line goes up Pichai’s being a failure for years. Google is too big to fall even with a complete incompetent asshole in command. I always considered that he was useless as a CEO, his mentality is basically killing everything that’s not profitable as it is launched. And kill everything that’s not profitable even if it adds value to your company as a whole. Googling “pichai failure” gets you a ton of articles about what an amazing guy he is for overcoming his failures and like 1 articles talking about how google employees think he sucks Probably not yet. Then again. He’s only been in charge while everything has gone up into the right corner. The AI race will be his test
