Also important to remember that federal age of consent isn’t the Delta bombers skull shirt and I love this only thing that matters. I mean technically here in Texas if you steal a horse you are supposed to be hung. In reality you probably just get fined and some jail time, maybe. Hell, the Texas constitution is full of just extra stuff no one does anymore, but can’t get votes to remove and/or dumbass timetables mean you have to really make sure that law is worth the legislation’s time.

By modern standards 12 is very low (and horrific), but unfortunately by historical standards it wasn’t. If it’s normalized there then they’ll think nothing of it, they’d just think it’s a part of life. Weird how brains just kinda work like that. This is a good change though cuz I doubt the Philippines wants to be known as one of the few countries you can come and fuck kids. Im Filipino and while I have known that the AoC here is 12 from some random trivia I came across, I assure you, everyone I know so far, parents from both sides, teachers, friends, poor people, rich people, the media still use the 18 AoC anyways and condemn adults who have sex with minors(under 18).
