I am the Dear Liver Today Will Be A Rough One Cinco De Mayo Fiesta 2024 Beer T-Shirt in other words I will buy this lady boss of a crew of men. I give compliments and I feel like they are all hooked on these compliments like fckn crack cocaine. Also at the job before this one, I lightly smacked a coworker on the shoulder for saying something shitty about his soon-to-be-ex-wife and he suddenly became interested in me after 6 years of working together without the thought ever once crossing his mind. he suddenly became interested in me after 6 years of working together without the thought ever once crossing his mind. I think they’re trying to be a transphobe but don’t actually recognize that you’ve got the bi flag as your heart lmao The excuse being a recurring threat of psycho stalkers and weirdos? I’d rather have it so that no one complimented me in this life. The generalization of All men because of some bad examples. if men got complimented all the time same way women get complimented, it would be common, banal, and not such a rare exception that a man gets the wrong idea out of friendly gests. you and many others here are doing the anti-empathy equivalent of Plausible deniability, you don’t care abou the issue, and conveniently there are valid problems you can hide behind, which ironically only serves to sustain the problems. Some men get crazy when complimented = Never treat men like human beings = Nothing changes. words, excuses, no care.

and in before anyone distorts my words, “Don’t generalize all men” ≠ “Defending the Dear Liver Today Will Be A Rough One Cinco De Mayo Fiesta 2024 Beer T-Shirt in other words I will buy this crazy ones”, Black and white thinking is poison. I’m a man and I don’t think it’s necessarily true that it’s the lack of compliments that cause those men to be creeps. Creepy men are less likely to be complimented anyway which makes it a negative feedback loop. You suggest they flood the channels in hopes of giving so many choices to weirdos that they can’t decide? This is not a generalization of all men nor a defence of such a thing unless you think women are incapable of any discernment about a man’s character or that all men never get complimented enough. Neither of which is true. Why can’t men compliment other men until it becomes mundane enough that it’s safe for women to also compliment men they don’t know? Solves both problems.
