From what I see from teaching the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this social media influencers like that bald guy with no chin and Jordan Peterson are turning young men into toxic weirdos. A right-wing guy I used to talk to shared some stats of women in younger gens turning more leftist while their men counterparts were turning more right-wing. This is the same guy who expects his future ‘gf/wife’ to dress him up because he has, and I quote, ‘no sense of dressing’. These same men complain “blonde white women much rather go for diversity and date outside their race”. I was too stunned to respond to such a statement. Yeah also OPs question makes it sound like this is a male only issue, but the number of available straight women is always going to be more or less equivalent to the number of available straight men. And the virginity rate between the genders of a given age group isn’t going to be much different neither. As you mentioned above, this is more of a matter of over-pickiness (on the part of both sexes) rather than lack of availability. There’s unfortunately a subset of men out there who think they should be entitled to a cool, smart, attractive girlfriend, all while putting next to zero effort into achieving that goal beyond sitting at home and swiping through pictures on a dating app. Dating apps suggest otherwise. Women are extremely picky whereas men are happy settling for the majority of women they see. I think match..com looked at the data a long time ago and found that on average men swiped right on 60% of profiles and women swiped right on 1%. Talking to a lot of my single female friends 1 out of 100 profiles seems about right.

David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt: A Provocative Statement in Modern Fashion

One possible explanation for how wide that gap is: women (profiles that identify as female) are more likely to not swipe at all, for anyone. There are motives to dating apps beyond dating. Like how many partners are actually really fucking good in bed? And how many of those would you consider dating long term? Communication is how you get good with each other in bed and, frankly, even most people in committed relationships suck at it. That may be so, but the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this average guy is going to orgasm from a one night situation. A LOT less likely for the woman All the risks of sex (pregnancy, STIs, emotional issues, physical safety) and none of the actual benefits of a relationship (love, companionship, friendship, orgasms….) I also think that there much less pressure from society for us women to get married and have kids young. We now have more freedoms in terms of career choices etc so we want to settle down later. Having these freedoms and less pressure means we aren’t going to just settle for anyone, we aren’t going to stay in poor relationships because we’ll be judged for being single ‘at your age’. A lot of men think that they’re competing with richer and more successful men. What they’re actually competing with is the freedom that comes with being single. OMG I never saw it this way before but you’re 100% right. Most women I know who are single (including myself) are like – if I’m in a relationship, I need to be happier than without one.
I’m not saying this as a man hater or anything, I’m not necessarily deciding to be single but I have very much not been actively on the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this dating market in the last few years (partly because I had a lot going on I didn’t feel like adding that complication and wanted to be well, but also because it feels like so much WORK nowadays with the apps, and at my age (35) you don’t meet that many single people in every day life….) Agreed! Dating makes me so fucking miserable and there is little to no reward. I just can’t be bothered when I have so much other stuff to do. This is it right here. I’m not going to waste my time looking for a relationship just for the sake of having one; there has to be something in it for me and it has to be better than being single. I feel like I know plenty of single guys (and gals) in that 30-40 range, but finding someone whose company I enjoy more than my own is the hard part.

A relationship does take work, hard work and investment to thrive, if the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this roadblock of meeting someone is overcome. It isn’t going to be as care free or static free because both participants have to be considerate of each other. Everyone has a rough day here and there, stress or anxiety, health issues and there needs to be empathy and effort at inconvenient times. not to mention there will be disagreement and concessions from both people even in a healthy relationship. In these terms as people become more comfortable and happy as a single person that sort of work to maintain a relationship for the long term may seem less worthwhile. I honestly think that more men would actually be much happier being single, they just pursue dating because they think it’s what they “have” to do.
For many men, their SO is their biggest confidant and emotional support system. For a gender not allowed to express emotions much or show any vulnerability, I am not surprised many want to have an SO quickly. I feel bad for them TBH It’s interesting that there’s this idea of men providing (materially) vs women nurturing (aka providing emotional support etc). This kind of links in with what kitepolice said – I really wonder how much of that self-worth is missed out on because there’s this view that the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this emotional side of things isn’t “providing”. It seems like that leads a lot of men to disregard the “value” they could get from their friendships, which means all that validation then has to be found in their partner. As a woman, I would do most of the things I’d do for my partner for my female friends, and I know they’d give me the same support in return. My partner just happens to be my ~best~ friend (who I also want to kiss) – so I’m not missing out on too much if I’m single for a while. Obviously this is super general and plenty of men have great bonds with their mates, but when people talk about all the “male loneliness” stuff it seems like a lot of it comes back to this. Honestly it’s pretty sad, we need to get rid of the expectation that men only be vulnerable with their partners. You can provide for your friends too!
Women now have careers and can provide for themselves so they aren’t financially pressured to settle for shitty relationships a common experience with all my lady friends is that soooo many guys just can’t do very basic things like keep a clean space, take good care of their hygiene, and have basic social skills whenever my guy friends talk about bad dates/matches, it’s more “yeah it was awkward, no chemistry, it was obvious she wasn’t feeling it”, with my lady friends it’s genuine horror stories, stuff like “he talked about himself the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this entire time and never asked me a question”, “he threw a fit when I wouldn’t tell him my exact place of work”, “10 minutes in he asked me what kind of porn I watch” My friend encountered so many married men on the apps or in long term relationships. I’m sure women like that exist too but my friend dates men. We even did a double date once that she set up, well the guy I was talking to was married with clear photos online but said not a word about it. She had mostly coordinated with the guy she was seeing and then they agreed to bring a friend so we didnt know til we looked the friend up later but we were like wtf. It’s actually sad to me the number of married men my friend has sussed out from the apps. Another friend of hers was recently dating some guy that was a scammer and had a long list of arrests. My friend looked him up when the girl was crying over him, and was warning her that she needed to get away from him. There are a lot of sketchy folks with online dating.
This is part of the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this reason many women don’t go on apps. Like 50% of the men in there are married men looking for some side action. Mind you, some of us are employed in this line of work, we can figure this shit out quickly now. If a woman gets this shit ten times they won’t bother even answering the introduction. Some men suck at just being decent human beings. This guy gets it!! The dick pics, asking for nudes, and constantly wanting to talk about sex is exhausting and discouraging. Nothing turns me off faster than “so what do you like in bed?” 10 messages in. Back when I was growing up (I’m Reddit old), that stuff didn’t exist. So your candidate pool of who you dated was pretty limited to whoever you went to school or church with. Especially when you younger.
And even if you went to a city and went to bars, you just kinda had to hope you picked a good bar at the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this right time to just happen to say the right line to the right person. If a girl is just looking to hook up, why bother going to a club? An app will let her pick the hottest guys. And why not? Doesn’t mean you’re ugly. Just means a 7 with other attributes can do better in person than an 8+ based on an app profile only. It’s also because when you meet people in person you see a whole person. A lot of the people we swipe left on in apps we’d totally fuck if we met in person. I’d say this is mostly true, but not necessarily. I’m married nowadays so it doesn’t matter anymore, but 7 -10 years ago. I was in the dating pool and had great luck in real life and never had much success online. And I am DEFINITELY not charismatic, witty, or funny. Just was never one to have the latest and greatest camera, or take pictures at events or gatherings where you show off your friends and travel/hobbies. So I mostly had poor quality selfies on my profiles. That’ll do it too. Honestly, and to be honest I feel like the last 2 to 3 years I’ve been seeing an Internet fatigue with young people, meeting someone in a bar or out and about is being romanticized again, which I no doesn’t really correlate as to other people are going to start doing it more often lol but I think a lot still are
Dating apps just don’t have offer depth. There’s a ton of things going on when metting in person. But online? Not so much. I just can’t take a decent selfie to save my life. Every woman I ever met from an app told me I look much better in person. Bars and what not the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this women actually approached me. Apps were just a numbers game lol. Studies have shown it’s hottest 10% of men, and 80% of women. Then when most of those women inevitably get rejected they complain how all men are shitty Top men AND women get the most attention on certain apps specifically. But a lot of women aren’t even in apps. Those stats from apps don’t reflect the overall population. I think that social media has ruined it for many people in multiple ways, this is strictly my opinion based of how I’ve seen younger people interact with opposite genders. Social media has ruined the art of conversation. I’ve seen many younger men and women not be able to hold actual in person conversations. They don’t know how to interact with each other. They are afraid to approach women in person. They’re so use to being able to hide behind a screen that they are afraid of talking to them in person. Instagram and others have created a false idea of what women should be. They see these attractive “Influencers” or “models” and that’s all their feeds are. Resulting in them thinking all women should look or be that way.
Porn is easily accessible and also creates a sense of what women should be like. Sorry, but few women want a facial or to be spoken to like that. On point 2, many young people consider it rude to randomly approach someone and try to strike up a conversation with them, no matter the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this gender. Well that’s on them then and if they reject you then move on. It’s not a big deal, you shouldn’t worry about what someone thinks is rude when clearly it’s not. Except now you’re also rolling the dice for if they pull out their phone and go live on social media calling you a creep for approaching them. There’s some pretty solid research that men in this age group are far more socially conservative than women of the same age. Women are looking at their options and thinking “no thanks”. Don’t want partners that seem more backwards than their grandfathers. this is the answer. gen z men are actually more conservative than BOOMER MEN. which is saying a lot. the whole red pill thing has rotted so many young men’s brains. it’s so hard to date men nowadays without running into extreme misogynists. i’ve dated misogynistic men, and it is scary, depressing, and soul destroying. i will never do it again. i’d rather be alone forever When I was in my teens and early 20’s there was misogyny everywhere but it was something we were all brought up to expect. Shitty sexist jokes and guys treating women like a piece of meat. But now it feels worse somehow because whereas so many men are way more aware of the shit women go through, the ones who are misogynistic are so much more extreme. Saying genuinely terrifying shit out loud in the open. It makes dating genuinely scary. The alt-right, MGTOW and other such movements are something to be scared of because they have corrupted a lot of young men.
And it’s all backlash and nonsense. It will disappear eventually, and those guys will be standing around holding their dicks wondering what went wrong. HOPEFULLY it disappears eventually. But if threads like this do anything, it should be to hammer home the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this importance of VOTING- particularly if you are a young woman who values her independence. A few years ago, nobody thought Roe v Wade would be overturned. There are truly some scary nutjobs out there who are working overtime to get women back into primarily subservient roles. Where the hell have you been meeting these gen z men wtf. I can name only one right wing gen z man my age out of the people I met in those last few years. …everywhere? i’m a gen z girl, just walk into any high school and there’s one. online is even worst. a lot of guys no matter what age are misogynistic. Women’s spaces online can’t mention men without disgust or some kind of dehumanizing. Men are seen as pests and predators by a lot of women my age. It doesn’t come from nowhere, we’re all bouncing off of each other with our worst being shoved into everyone’s faces cause algorithms show us what’s makes us angry and afraid. I don’t know, as a single woman it’s been hard for me to find single men. I’m open to walking up to a guy and starting conversations but most men I see out are with their girlfriends, wives, or they have their kids with them.
It’s because single guys don’t have a reason to go out to parks or wherever you see couples with kids. Single guys in public probably are: Because of that, nowadays the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this most effective way is to meet someone at uni/work, being introduced by friends, during some activities (seminars, yoga classes, events etc.) or online. I wouldn’t count on movie-like meetings where a stranger proposes you an umbrella. I actually go to the park to exercise all the time. Almost every day. I’m going here in a few minutes actually. Women NEVER talk to me at all lol. Because of that, nowadays the most effective way is to meet someone at uni/work, being introduced by friends, during some activities (seminars, yoga classes, events etc.) or online.
Yet women will say that it’s “creepy and weird” for a guy to go to a class/group/club to try to meet women. Work is even more sensitive because if she says a guy made her the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this slightest bit uncomfortable, he could potentially lose his job. Yes, but what’s weird is how women will err on the side of “harassment” even if they have no idea what the guy looks like. For example, I’ve seen plenty of guys on here ask where/how to meet women in different posts and there’s always women that shame them just for asking the question. As if merely being a single guy that wants a partner makes them a bad person. It’s very weird. at first this didnt make sense and then i realized as single men get older a lot of them eventually dont even have friends to hang out with so eventually cant even go anywhere
This is where I’m at. 38, my whole life is work and my kids, when I get the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this night off there’s not much I can do because everyone’s settled in their lives and it’s never fun to go somewhere by yourself and have people side-eye you all night. I feel the same thing as a man. I go out enough, have hobbies and play sports to try and meet new people. I can’t think of a new person that I’ve come across in the last few years that was single. I’m not one to go out and pick up girls at a bar, and I’m a bit too old for that to be appropriate anyways (at least in my college town) so I feel like I’m stuck to the dating apps which I hate. Look for a nice café. If you go there frequently you will see men sitting there all by themselves, sometimes with a laptop. They are usually single. I am one of those men and I often end up chatting with the others. They all turned out to be single. You will find all kinds of flavors when it comes to looks and personality, from the young computer nerd to the retired cop. It looks like men in relationships don’t like to go to cafés all by themselves.
Men don’t go out alone much for the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this fear of coming across as creepy loners. W You will have to get into a hobby to get to know more single people who share your interests. Yeah, from “30%” of men being virgins to an estimated “50%” in 6 years set off some alarms. That’s extremely unlikely, or at least highly biased. People rely on dating sites way too much and they’re a terrible way to go about it. It forces people to judge based on looks and just pictures at that. Can’t really showcase other ways you are attractive. What do you mean compete? There is nearly a 50/50 split between men and women. You can’t force women to want to date. So if women don’t want to date, then it means that of the pool of women who want to date, they can be picky.
People are not approachable anymore. There is almost no point or even venue outside of bara/clubs to spontaneously speak to someone. This is a cultural shift driven by technology. I grew up in the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this upper Midwest – I’ll talk to anyone that mistakenly finds themselves within talking distance of me. Exactly what place are you talking about? Not the gym or the library, no guy wants to be labeled a creep. Forget work, you don’t want HR involved in your dating life. Bars are tedious and unrewarded unless you have a large friend group. I enjoy the outdoors, but the trail is not the best place to start a conversation. Where is this magical place where I can just go and find single women to talk to. Thank you! This is the answer! People have overanalysed this issue so much dude. It’s almost like the reality of the situation is being avoided. You need to go talk to girle besides frickin cashiers lol. I say this every time I see a thread like this. I
Guys don’t go out and talk to girls enough. We have a serious issue of guys who stay inside all day complaining how hard dating is nowadays. People just swipe on tinder, get no matches, and call it a shit circumstance or personal failing. Ask them how many women they’ve actually engaged with in the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this past month and asked on a date. If you ask a girl out a day for a month and don’t meet someone, we can worry about something like looks or approach…but until you’ve tried it, i maintain that’s the issue. People think they’re actually ‘trying’ because they make a tinder lmao. It’s an illusion. Tinder sucks. Go talk to girls face to face. If you’re introverted go practice extroversion. Seriously. Just to add: this is not just theoretical but psychological. The psychological response to face to face interaction is different than online interaction. Especially women, who seem to respond more positively to qualities which can only be displayed in person. This is the answer, and gets into a deeper issue. Social groups are folding everywhere, the cost of maintaining a group or club keeps rising and they aren’t intended to make money but serve a vital social purpose.
If people can’t maintain a group because the David Montgomery, Jared Goff And Amon ra St. Brown Merry Detroit Lions Christmas shirt but in fact I love this cost is too high it disappears and we are slowly losing the ability to socialise in groups because it’s too expensive. Unaffordable rent is ruining everything. there’s a whole culture about NOT bothering women in public places and all, boys get shamed for not doing the first move and they get shamed if they do too… girls make the first move already… Because they’re not keeping up with women. The statistics show men cannot keep up with their end of responsibilities in terms of emotional labor, house labor, intimacy labor (orgasm gap), education achievement, etc. Women are not accepting emotionally unavailable men who are depressed or men that just want to put in the bare minimum. More often than not, it’s more beneficial for a women to stay single than to date a man.
