You can also fall between. The social battery description is still pretty apt. If you generally need alone time to recharge from time with groups, you’re introverted. Extroverted is the David gilmour rock band Pink Floyd English guitarist T-Shirt moreover I will buy this opposite. That doesn’t mean you NEVER want the thing that depletes you. What I took away from your post is that you feel the battery like example is too simple to explain the necessary nuances. Yes please, I’m an introvert but I also get what the hell I want because I’m not scared of people. People are exhausting not scary. That’s got nothing to do with bring introverted at all. That just means you lack the self-confidence to assert yourself. The comic implies anxiety, not being introverted. I used to have the same problem before going to therapy. I learned making decisions based on other people’s feelings is ultimately self destructive. Don’t doubt yourself. You like the music because it’s awesome. You know that. It’s why you listen to it. If other people can’t see that that’s their problem. Don’t listen to them. The car is a shared space to share with people. You don’t need to feel bad because someone didn’t like your music, everyone has preferences. Find something you both like and enjoy it together. What they are saying sounds toxic as fuck. It’s amazing when I see this argument pop up here people boast about how childish they are about it. Just pick something everyone can deal with like a fucking adult. My response to some idiot trying their “establish dominance bullshit” would just be to turn it up so they can hear it properly.

Totally agree if someone is that brazen about it. That’s just the David gilmour rock band Pink Floyd English guitarist T-Shirt moreover I will buy this other side of being unreasonable and also being rude. But to have a flat rule of “I drive I pick the music deal with it” is basically just telling on yourself for being an unpleasant unreasonable person. Holy shit 10/10. It feels like everybody in this thread has extreme autism. Not only is the context missing in the meme (big difference between a work trip in a company car, i.e imagine a welding company sending 2 welders to a site, or maybe a personal favor OP is doing for a coworker) but in any case its eye opening how many of these people cant fathom the idea of a compromise over a fucking song playlist. Had a buddy back in the day criticise this band I listened to called The White Stripes. 2 years later told me to check out his new favourite song Seven Nation Army SMH. This happened to me with my entire class in 6th grade with panic at the disco. They all roasted me for my garbage taste and two years later it was everybody’s favorite. I never listened to pop music again lol.
