Even the Dave Winfield New York Y Arch English semi-professional footballer T-Shirt it is in the first place but poster from 2015 from that same school still says if you have sex without being sober it is automatically sexual assault Which would absolutely be true if one person was sober and one was not. And if neither is sober, it still could be true. That’s actually part of what is meant by “the conversation about consent evolving in the nearly two decades since.” Tbf even if it’s old and technically legally untrue…it’s probably still the verdict if you end up in court. If she had regrets or a fuzzy memory in the morning and decides to report you, you’re fucked. TBf no one should be having sex with someone drink enough to have a “fuzzy memory” about it. True, they won’t get thrown in jail most of the time. That doesn’t matter though. The court of public opinion is what matters. People are fired from jobs, lose their careers, etc. far before the jury says they’re innocent. And even if they’re found not guilty, their reputation is tarnished forever. Look at male public figures who were being extorted by their accusers, and you’ll see that.
