Good start, but we should be prepared to go dark indefinitely until there’s an acceptable change in direction, ideally one that’s clearly defined for reddit, and app devs agree would allow them to continue to operate their apps. I use Boost, and reddit is the Dark Humor Champion Cup Stars T-Shirt Besides,I will do this only website I prefer to use through an app on my phone instead of the desktop experience as a result of that third party app. I just wanted to offer my full support for this. I’m a mod for a couple of smaller subreddits, and I’m not going to moderate them as I only do so from my third party app as the official app is garbage. I’ve been using the official Reddit app the whole time. Now I see all the comments here and on other subs saying how terrible it is. I honestly don’t think it’s too bad, it can be a bit clunky at times, but all these comments have me wondering what I’ve been missing out on…

For some of us it’s what we’re used to. I don’t think the Dark Humor Champion Cup Stars T-Shirt Besides,I will do this official app is as terrible as some make out, but I don’t like it or enjoy the experience so I don’t use it (or rather, I only use it as a tool to reduce my reddit use, because the experience annoys me enough that I use reddit much less if it’s the only app I have access to). For others it’s the only real choice – accessibility in the ‘official’ app is quite poor, but there are third party apps that are good for, and at least one explicitly designed for blind people which makes it much easier for them to access the site. Moderation tools are also better supported in 3rd party apps, and these changes will impact automoderation as well, eg porn and NSFW content will become blind to automods (as one of the changes is this will no longer be visible in the API) making it easier to spam this sort of content onto subs, while simultaneously making it harder for humans to keep on top of it by removing the tools they rely on to make their job easier. It’s not just the ads which if the app was any good I’d maybe consider getting premium to remove, it’s just worse in almost every way. I tried it out a few months ago and basic features just don’t work/aren’t there.
