If you are really set in your mind at doing this really highly focused thing, you may need to really expand your search location range or find a way to use it to start a business. I applied to over 1000 jobs coming out of college. Any job in any of the 50 states that I was somewhat qualified for. Not sure if any one has mentioned this yet but where I work we occasionally will hire temporary/contractors ie they get a job at an agency and said agency has a list of jobs thst needs people. Instant in once you are hired at the agency and if you don’t like thst place just talk to your manager at agency and they will move you. If you find a place you like and have been working there long enough to make a good impression you will get hired over others/ said company may even try to hire you right after your temporary work is over if they like your performance. While you were 2 years in your field, you spent 8 years in industry: frame it that way, you worked your way up into the Darius Slay American football cornerback Philadelphia Big Play Slay T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this field. Assuming you’re not independently wealthy enough to pay your monthly expenses, you will need a job, even if it’s filler to get a paycheck. The search will not end until you get a job in your field. People apply to many jobs because like others said it’s a numbers game, especially when you only have “2 years in the field”. They find jobs by broadening their search and not just one niche role using the same one or two keywords. Be open to a variety of roles, even if it’s not exactly what you are looking for or are qualified for. The job description posted is usually a catch-all, so don’t expect to match up with all the criteria. Apply even if you have 30% match.
