They will never change their mind because to even consider the Dansby Swanson Retro shirt and by the same token and idea that they might be wrong is to question their idea of God, which to them is to question God Himself, which they will never do, even though Jesus himself did so on the cross. It’s heavily ironic. If you quote scripture at them, they’ll see you as an arrogant sinner who is pretending to know the mind of God, a sin of the highest caliber. Yet by making that very assumption, they inherently must believe that they DO know the mind of God, because otherwise how would they know that you don’t? They don’t go that far in their reasoning, of course. But it IS a God complex that they possess. The two most potent weapons against far-right Christianity can be found in every hotel room. A Bible and a mirror.

Dansby Swanson Retro shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

It’s kind of incredible how if the Dansby Swanson Retro shirt and by the same token and Bible makes an off hand remark about how women should cover their hair in church these people will treat it as an unchangeable rule direct from the mouth of God that is binding for all eternity and the salvation of the entire community is at risk if we allow any sort of deviation, but when Jesus, Peter, Paul and John all say multiple times not to judge other people suddenly they say THAT’S NOT WHAT IT REALLY MEANS! Also, the sub-cult of fundamental Christianity which believes in predestination (Calvinism) believe that empathy is a sin. They believe that empathy is a trick of Satan to lure you into feeling sorry for poor people, the sick and handicapped, enslaved people, mass-murdered schoolchildren, etc. Empathy is reserved for your fellow cult members as long as they go along. “If God made you poor/sick/whatever then it’s a sin to go against God’s plan. I’ll pray you get in Heaven, tho.”
