I asked one girl. Her mother brought her that thread like thing. She said “Buri Nazar se bachane ke lie”. aka Meanwhile I have a black thread on my left ankle because I found one laying around at home and just decided to tie that without even knowing that this was a thing but apparently it’s a thing???
