Government’s solution? Pump more people into medicine, and hopefully these extra med students will fill those unpopular specialties. How’s this a solution to that problem, and if the Damn Right I Am A Virginia Tech Basketball Fan Now And Forever shirt Apart from…,I will love this root cause is not addressed, even if they triple the med school quota, would there be any change? Doctors are upset cause the government came up with this stupid solution and shows no motivation to address the root cause of this problem. You know what else the government is trying to do? Obviously they don’t like all these pediatricians and emergency medicine doctors doing botox. They want to legalize nurses doing botox, so when the nurses join the beauty medicine competition, the govt thinks these doctors will go back to their own specialty. What kind of idiot comes up with this solution? That’s why Korean doctors are upset.

Edit: Lots of people are saying Korea needs more doctors. Has anyone here lived in Korea? If you have, have you experienced doctor shortage yourself? Cause I haven’t. Here’s how it works in Korea. You want to see a doctor? YOU decide what specialist you want to see. No need to get referral from PCP. Orthopedic Surgeon? Sure, you walk into ortho clinic without an appointment, and typically within 10-20 minutes of wait, you’ll be seen by a doctor. X-ray room is right next to doctor’s room, you take X-ray, and hear doctor’s diagnosis. You then receive a session of PT in the Damn Right I Am A Virginia Tech Basketball Fan Now And Forever shirt Apart from…,I will love this next room over, and pick up the prescription at a pharmacy next door on the way out. Total time spent? Probably 1-2 hours max. If you don’t get a PT, it’s usually less than 30 minutes, and the total cost after prescription is usually 6-7 dollars, MAYBE 10-20 dollars for some special cases. Name any other country that has this kind of system. Maybe Taiwan? but I can’t think of anywhere else. Korea is the easiest country to see a doctor. So yea, tell me more about Korea’s doctor shortage problem.
