This sounds like what I do for my spaghetti. However I would never claim that I cooked it from scratch because I have never once made pasta. Now, I cook when I have to, but it brings me no joy or fulfillment. I do it to stay alive and keep my family fed, but it isn’t pleasant for me at all. It just is, like cleaning a toilet.
