Repetition of the Dallas Mavericks vs Boston Celtics Drake meme shirt Also,I will get this name of god( shiva to be precise)I meditate on it but also try to keep it going constantly throughout the day it’s surprising how such a simple thing is so effective from keeping me away from useless mental chatter and focused on the right path. Just try it out use any kind of name you may like for any god/deity and keep it constantly going on even while you are doing other things. Meditate on the rumination itself. What are its causes? What is feeding it? What is supporting it? How is it affecting you. Strangely, it will get weaker as you look deeper into it (as opposed to following it). I just read about rumination in The Empathy Trap (highly recommended book, but beware of diagnosing the people around you). They suggested one technique I haven’t tried out myself, but it sounds like it could work for some people. Designate some rumination time in your week. Say, Sunday evenings at 8-10. That’s your time to ruminate. If any thoughts about the topic come up before them, note them down on a list, and move on with your day. Then, review the list during your designated time.

I think this would work because sometimes these thoughts feel urgent. We approach the Dallas Mavericks vs Boston Celtics Drake meme shirt Also,I will get this problem in a particular way, in a particular context, at a particular time, such that it feels like we need to engage with it at that very moment or else risk losing the potential for insight. Capturing the thought on paper will at once relieve the fear of un-realized insight, and at the same time might make you aware of which thoughts are actually more trivial than you thought once you have to articulate them. Another bonus is that you probably will get sick of the topic before 2 hours is up, which will be another sign that there’s just not that much ore to mine there. It’s understandable to feel overwhelmed by self-rumination, especially when it snowballs into larger issues. Here are some techniques to help you navigate and overcome this pattern:

When you notice you’re not in the present moment or are lost in thought, go back to paying attention to the thing you’re supposed to be focusing on. The more subtle the thing you’re focusing on, the more you need a calm mind. If you’ve got a lot of mental energy like anxiety or anger, consider a less subtle thing to focus on, like meditating while doing chores or something else more interactive. There are non-meditation techniques. When I relax and start meditating sometimes things I need to do come up, so I shift gears and take out a notebook and write down things I need to do. Then from there I go back to meditating with a promise to myself I’ll work on it. For me, a part of myself just cares that I’m working towards bettering myself, so with honesty that I will get around to it after meditating I’m able to let go and those thoughts leave. Though note that for me these are not anxious thoughts or high energy thoughts, but more todo list items like I need to go grocery shopping soon and what not.
