Would be nice if, unlike all lot of those other federal employees, they actually did a little work while they’re in DC. OK, so I work for the Dallas Cowboys Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2023 DeMarcus Ware shirt also I will do this federal government. I don’t know if it works the same way with Congress as it does with me. If I travel somewhere and I get $80 per diem, if I don’t use that $80, I’m still reimbursed for $80, no matter how little I spend. Yes. On the travel days, so the 1st day and the last day you don’t get the full amount, you usually get about half. How it works I would use my government travel credit card, make all of my purchases put the hotel on it. In the end, the government will deposit all of the money into my regular account so that I can pay off the credit card. We are not allowed to make monthly payments on the credit card. It has to be paid off immediately, and it does affect my credit score if I screw up. There are no “leftovers” from the hotel, it is only for meals and incidentals. You get 75% on first and last day. We just set this up for our employees for meals and incidentals reimbursement for travel.

Edit: so is it a funny loophole that they can take advantage of this? Because they’re not in their home location they are eligible for this reimbursement ? I totally disagree that they get per diem. No way that they should get their nice salary and per diem. They signed up to travel, I didn’t. I am glad I don’t have to travel anymore. Yes it was only once or twice, but that wasn’t enough I agree. I hope I didn’t give the Dallas Cowboys Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2023 DeMarcus Ware shirt also I will do this assumption that I thought this was something good for congress to take advantage of. Likewise, I’m assuming the tweet did their homework and they in fact get meals and incidentals per diem daily. In all fairness I’m skeptical that they actually do unless the above scenario is true (where Capitol Hill isn’t their work location and they are traveling there). I was worried you thought that I thought I was OK with it. I do believe that as long as if the congressperson is in DC, they do get that per diem
