I don’t give a damn about Target specifically, they can crash and burn for all I care about a greedy, greasy corporation. What I do care about is the Dallas cowboys football shirt and I will buy this principle of how it happened. If a few groups of shithead bigots have the power to tank a huge company over some rainbows then we’re all fucked. 100% irrevocably fucked. Now they think that anyone who disagrees with their medieval views can be frozen out by shouting on Twitter, and if it works often enough then they win. That’s it, no more public support for any marginalized groups, no more visibility campaigns, no more corporate sponsorship of lgbtq people. And sure their Pride Month stuff is a cynical play to the demographic but it’s better than pretending they don’t exist.

Well they told their main customers to go fuck themselves by moving that pride fest collection to the Dallas cowboys football shirt and I will buy this back of the store or outright removing it altogether. What did they expect would happen? It’s bullshit that everyone seems perfectly fine with corporations exercising their First Amendment rights by donating untold millions of dollars to PACs, but lord forbid they state their views out loud. Seems like the only people boycotting are miserable assholes, making it a much improved place to shop & work, so I suspect it will be a blip and they will gain money in the long run. The ONLY mistake was to let the bullies win by pulling merch, and they should take the opportunity to reverse that. Good riddance. Businesses need to leave the dam politics to the politicians, why seek to alienate people with political statements. Just serve everyone equally and stop trying to make everything a political stance. Selling a shirt with a rainbow doesn’t have to be political. Gay pride has nothing to do with politics. There are more red, white, and blue prints in the store than rainbows, so how is this not “serve everyone equally” when they are serving everyone? I worked for them recently. I only made 15 dollars an hour and was pushed beyond my physical limit. I often went home limping. My team leads and etls treated me like absolute garbage and always claimed I wasn’t doing enough. I was basically told customer service came last and not to help them. I was also demanded to go on the register above everyone else. I couldn’t even use the restroom in peace because if they called me on the walkie they demanded I answer while in the bathroom. They wrote me up for little reasons, which were mostly made up. Eventually I got fired. After being fired I saw that they were only giving their employees 4 to 10 cent raises (in most cases). I went to the hospital twice because I worked there. One time I called in because I couldn’t stop vomiting and my store director answered. He told me that they could use me there when I was done throwing up.
