This hospital is fucking terrible. I was there in the Dad The Man The Myth The Tennis Legend Retro T-Shirt in contrast I will get this middle of the night for an emergency about 5 years ago… it was unbelievable how awful it was. I literally had to scream that my baby was crowning and no one believed me. Nurse almost didn’t catch my daughter. Doctor was no where to be found. They tried telling me that it couldn’t be baby, nurse had checked me not long ago and I wasn’t far enough dilated to be having baby so quickly. It was my 4th baby, no meds or anything and let me assure you there is no mistaking the feeling of a baby forcing their way through the birth canal. That was much first and only hospital birth thankfully. Fucking awful. This is bullshit, not being able to feel your legs in a birthing situation is absolutely mission critical to deal with immediately. This post is just gross.

Sounds like the Dad The Man The Myth The Tennis Legend Retro T-Shirt in contrast I will get this doctors created an environment of fear and nurses were afraid to call them. Nurses have to toughen up and not care what the doctor thinks, but so many times when we call a doctor they get mad, even if it’s potentially life threatening. Some hospitals are such a toxic work environment. Yeah, I’ve had more than one interaction where I paged a doctor a concern or just wanted to double check something with them in order to follow policy, and they shot back a rude or condescending page making me feel stupid for messaging them. I’ve also had multiple doctors just ignore my pages because they were within a half hour of their own shift ending. It is a nurse’s job to advocate for patients, including to doctors, but I can imagine many hospitals have this bad dynamic between staff.
