But seriously, a big part of America is in the horrible shape it’s in is because it so many Americans still get their news from this kind of crap, and it’s just not news. It hasn’t been news for a long long time. If you watch American cable news—any channel—you see the exact same pattern: story about something you should be outraged by, story about something you should be afraid of, another outrage story showing how the political party you disagree with is horrible, then a puff piece about puppies. Then go to commercial, come back and do it all over again.
