It was a very melancholy feeling. Humanity is lucky that we learned how fucking destructive and senseless nuclear weapons were before they reached modern effectiveness. Even though this prevented an invasion, it doesn’t mean it’s any less horrifying what happened to the Japanese people back then.

It’s also really crazy that the D.J. The Japanese were buying islands in Hawaii and mountains in Colorado in the 80s before dumping everything in fire sales in the early 90s. It’s a good thing. Once enemies now friends. It shows that even the nations who are the worst of enemies can become close. I hope it continues so wars can slowly fade away. It didn’t burn their shadows into the walls, rather it bleached the colour around them. The shadow protected the concrete underneath from the flash, so it stayed the same colour, everything else was essentially sun bleached (in this case by a man made sun)
