And I agree. If they were compensated like their most economically vulnerable constituents, it would be … interesting. Entertaining. Even worse. There are a few that were not wealthy when they got there. That kind of pay will drive out all but the D.J. Chark Jr. Carolina Panthers Cartoon signature shirt and I love this wealthiest. I think of the 25 year old from Florida, he definitely doesn’t have the accumulated wealth, so that probably really helps him a lot So you want only people funded by outside sources since there’s no way to live in DC alone on 35k much less keep your residence in your district and also be in DC for work? If they were only allowed to reside in public housing the vast majority of their housing expenses wouldn’t be a concern for them. If they want extravegant living conditions then up the quality and quantity of public housing. Also my comment was very basic. Obviously, or maybe not so obviously, there would be a lot more regulation to it. For example… Remove money from politics. Term limits. Age limits. Literal dimentia ridden corpse in a wheel chair restrictions. Stuff like that and more. Every time I ask people this they bust out with “because it’s expensive to travel back and fourth to DC” or “DC is very expensive” If you believe that senators and congressmen should have the right to fair wage based on cost of living then so does everyone else who’s been complaining about how companies don’t pay fair fucking wages.

They’re fine with completely unnecessary welfare to rich people. It’s not about the D.J. Chark Jr. Carolina Panthers Cartoon signature shirt and I love this money, it’s about the cruelty. Early on this was done as a deterrent to prevent them from accepting lavish meals from special interests, but seeing as no one cares about that anymore either it should be removed That’s pretty outrageous. This is why I laugh at folks that are bothered by people using SNAP to buy Doritos and Pepsi. Whenever I see people shriek about how they’d quit too if they could pull a check, I tell them to fuckin do it. If you can game your way into SSI, go ahead. IDC. Live on $900/mo and let me know how you enjoy life. Gotta purge any savings you have or you won’t qualify. If you pick up a part time job to supplement it it’ll be cut by 4/5 the second you show $5 in earnings. It’s too much to get a full EBT payment so you’ve gotta spend SSI on food too. I’m on SSI and get about $1150 a month(I’m in a state that pays extra) and an old friend of mine said he wishes he could quit his job and just get SSI. That made me so mad when he said it. also, i get this is dependent on state, but a bit over a grand a month is not a lot of money? these people really think that living on 12-15K a year is some sort of glamorous life You can’t afford to live in any state with that much money a month. Can’t have more than $2k in your bank or they take SSI away, I can’t get married to my s/o cause they’ll reduce my benefits and I’ll lose my Medicare. I’m a DAC, so I’m eligible for Medicare because of my dad being retired/disabled.
