Agreed! Confidence is key. The first few weeks are hard but then you start to feel comfortable and even enjoy it! I love being in London at night and seeing things I wouldn’t normally see. Remember that although us women experience lots of sexual and physical violence, it’s far more likely to come from someone you know than strangers on the Cupid’s cafe love is brewing hot chocolate candy flowers T-Shirt in contrast I will get this street. At 10pm I regularly see women walking alone outside! Honestly while it depends where exactly you are, broadly Central is absolutely fine at 10pm. If you’re concerned (and I do get it) consider these pointers: identify non-intimidating busy venues en route that you can dive into for help or just to de-escalate any panic if you do ever feel unsafe (Tesco Metros, friendly pubs, chain restaurants etc)

I fucking hate that women have to consider all this stuff, by the Cupid’s cafe love is brewing hot chocolate candy flowers T-Shirt in contrast I will get this way. But it’s a sad reality of life that even while the threat level is probably pretty low at that time in central locations, we’re conditioned to expect the worst. There are very few places I would think are unsafe at 10pm in Central London. If your husband is worried you could maybe download a “walk me home” type app or perhaps share your location with him. I do a one hour walk every night at 10pm from Marylebone to Archway and the worst that’s happened so far is two drunk guys stopped me to ask if I liked the knights who say Ni haha Central is fine, why don’t you do the walk with your husband at the weekend and figure out a route you’re most comfortable with. Good luck in the new job!
