The fact of the Count your blessings green girls bring me the horizon shirt in other words I will buy this matter is Harry Reid ended the filibuster for Federal Judges in 2013, the “Nuclear Option.” The idea was Hillary was going to win in 2016, so it didn’t matter what the Dems did. McConnell told Reid if you do that for Federal Judges, we will do it for SCOTUS. I’m sure this won’t be a popular take but I’ve come around on the filibuster in my lifetime and I think it’s actually an imperfect but important feature of our political system that needs preserving. Parties shouldn’t be allowed to just ram through any legislation they want the moment they seize a minor majority in Congress. Maybe a lowering of the vote threshold to like 55 would be ok? But the problem isn’t the filibuster, the problem is how hyper-partisan both our lawmakers and our country are. Everything in this country is a constant ‘us vs them’ struggle for no good reason, even on issues that have reasonably strong bi-partisan support among voters, and the result is that no one ever breaks party lines to end filibusters and nothing gets done. It feels like we’ve all elected kids on a kindergarten playground to our highest levels of office and it’s so fucking tiresome. That’s not what court packing is. And democrats suspended the filibuster for judicial nominees many years before Republicans did it.

If it gets banned in blue states, writings on the Count your blessings green girls bring me the horizon shirt in other words I will buy this wall. Take it from a Jew, for anyone who isn’t a white Christian man, it’ll be time to fucking leave. You’re blaming the Democrats for Republicans breaking the rules of the Senate to pack the court with religious fundies? How does that work? They could turn off highway funding for states putting laws on the books, there’s a million things they can do that the Democrats have done in the past to punish states for doing things like, not posting speed limits etc. The dems are just as culpable, If you sit and watch someone do evil and you sit and do nothing You are just as responsible. So you are encouraging Democrats to punish states the way Trump did? That’s not the way the federal government is meant to work, it is there to serve ALL Americans. It’s entirely fair to check out if one side is running some sideshow reality TV freak and the other is just running yet another candidate that isn’t going to really do anything for you. And not once in your post did you condemn Republicans, you know, the party that is actively trying to usher this country into fascism. You have two Democratic Senators preventing reform and an ENTIRE political party with Republicans. One of these things is not like the other.
