As you are going to have to find a replacement for your current position, because they are going to expect you to fill both positions until they are confortable…. Yea, don’t believe them. My company had me at the “Acting Manager” role for almost 6 months while I still had my same workload PLUS the manager one. Then they hired someone very unqualified and I ended up doing the job again for close to a year because that person went out on long term disability! I finally had enough after putting in 2 huge project and getting a sad bonus and a meets expectation rating. Had 3 interviews the day after I put my resume out and I didn’t even give them a 2 week notice. I did my last turnover that week and left. Don’t do it! I have experience with these kind of traps! They will never give you the raise or the title. You will only receive more responsibilities and have to work longer hours.
