A nice dude i knew found jordan peterson, and one year later, he was posting incel memes and going on transphobic rants out of nowhere. He’s a cog in right wing radicalization posing as a self-help guru. If you were the Collage funny comedy for christmas buddy the elf shirt and by the same token and kind of person to believe Jordan Peterson was in any way insightful to begin with…you were bound to believe the second part even if a cereal box said it I’m calling light BS on that because a lot of his spiel is generic self help stuff about taking controls of yourself and surroundings to better yourself and lot in life. It appeals to people in rough spots because it tells them if they control the small things they can become successful. For many people (including, but not limited to young white males) who still face a lot of barriers to success in this world it can be empowering. Especial when he recognizes you if you feel unseen. The problems develop when it goes beyond into the weird alt right shit. Basic principles to live by are helpful to focus yourself… the second you starting falling into the homophobia, Islamophobia, or railing against feminism you obvious have gone too far.

He basically sets out saying it is your fault for failing, but follow my Collage funny comedy for christmas buddy the elf shirt and by the same token and steps and you can be successful at which point he has his audience following him, then he jumps off a cliff. “Clean your room.” I haven’t listened to enough of his stuff to understand how it devolves into nazi alt right stuff. I think something people miss here, and its really important, is that hes one of few talking heads who talks about young males as if they are worth more than dirt. Almost every other part of media/society either talks about you as a potential soldier or profitable asset. Everything is from a perspective of how its your fault with weak defences like “oh that’s not how its meant, we are talking about x y or z”.
