My Grandad used to lie about being teetotal all his life. In truth, he was quite fond of the Cleveland Cavaliers Cleveland India And Cleveland Browns Cleveland Logo 2024 shirt Additionally,I will love this odd pint or 12 in his youth. When his kids were born his sister asked him to cut down a bit, and tragically died a few months later. So in tribute to her he knocked it on the head and never drank again. But he would tell people he had never in his life drank alcohol, didn’t see the appeal etc. One was a white girl around 18 years old, the other is a 50ish year old chinese woman so possible but I am airing on the side of doubt. This made me chuckle to think of the memory, but about ten years ago my first serious boyfriend was about to introduce me to one of his best friends, and he randomly told me that his parents owned or invented the BIC pen company. And I believed him for so long (luckily never asked the best friend about it). He owned up to it when he realised I had totally run with it. One of my exes claimed to be great at cooking slow cooker recipes and said he made it through uni cooking meals like that.

The guy had no idea how to cook, slice or even peel anything at all. I had to show him the Cleveland Cavaliers Cleveland India And Cleveland Browns Cleveland Logo 2024 shirt Additionally,I will love this most basic stuff. Why even lie? And why lie about a fricking slow cooker?! My grandfather told lots of random lies to various people. Frank and Jessie James were from a neighbouring Welsh village, Terry Wogan was from Pembroke Phyllis Calvert was a relation etc only found out some of them were lies at his funeral My ex boyfriend told me his only sibling had died when they were younger. It later turned out he had a disabled brother very much alive. I mean, why would you try to hide that? As it turned out, he told lies all over the place but I could never understand why he’d lie about something like that. A man I used to work with (lets call him Billy) was a compulsive liar, lying about things that weren’t really impressive for no good reason. It was mind boggling.

He stated with great pride that he was walking into the Cleveland Cavaliers Cleveland India And Cleveland Browns Cleveland Logo 2024 shirt Additionally,I will love this office from home every morning (probably a mile walk). A one of the lads seen him getting dropped off from a taxi around the corner from work. They allowed him to hang himself by asking if he’d walked in, to which he replied yes. Henceforth they’d shout ‘taxi for Billy!’ when he was leaving at home time, he was seemingly oblivious. It was very uncomfortable. I knew a girl at uni who was a compulsive liar and one-upper. We always suspected because the stories she was telling were always so over the top and inconsistent, like her having grown up rough on the streets but also her family were incredibly rich. The big moment that stood out though is when we heard her repeat a story that someone else had told us previously, but instead of it being a “some guy on the internet” type story, it was her brother.

Friend of mine worked with a girl who was a habitual liar. She was told off for turning up late for a shift and replied that she’d got dressed for work but then her horse fell and broke its leg so she had to shoot it. Then she had to get changed, which further delayed her. I had a day off school sick, and when I went back the Cleveland Cavaliers Cleveland India And Cleveland Browns Cleveland Logo 2024 shirt Additionally,I will love this next day, my friend asked where I’d been, and I said “I nominated my dad for a Heart of Gold (Esther Rantzen TV show) and he won. I was at pebble mill filming the episode “. Then I forgot all about it until months later – my friend told me she’d watched the whole series but must have missed my dad’s episode! Another time, I’d had a mole removed from my back, which left a long, thin scar just over my kidney. I’d tell anyone who’d listen that I’d donated a kidney for my mum. I went out with a guy who told me he had a flat in Paris. He went on about it for so long, he sublets. Something about a scheme in Paris with tenancy’s held for a long time, you then get paid leave from work in the future etc (no idea if that bit is true) he got the flat through a work contract he had (which I don’t think is true either) I never truuuuly believed it but would give him so many opportunities to get himself out of this ludicrous tale and he never did, kept it going until we ended. Everyone thought it was mad that I never pressed him more on it but honestly I just thought it was so bizarre and quite sad that I thought he was happier living in that lie

I worked with a lad a few years back called Kyri who was always talking absolute shite to make himself seem impressive, a particular favourite revolved around the Cleveland Cavaliers Cleveland India And Cleveland Browns Cleveland Logo 2024 shirt Additionally,I will love this “club he used to own in Aya napa ““ can’t remember the ins and outs but it ended with him riding a quad bike down a set of steps with a live cobra round his neck. For the rest of the time I worked with the company anytime anyone said anything a bit suspect it was met with “nae bother Kyri” from the rest of the squad I once spent a whole evening as an Australian. That was wild. Dunno how nobody called me out, although we were all very very drunk. Ahh the folly of youth. My old boss was a strange guy who exaggerated and lied about all sorts, he told us he’d won £5k on the lottery but spent it all on a weekend in Amsterdam, turns out that was a lie. He also said he’d won some manager of the year award for the company – someone checked the wbesite/submissions and he wasn’t even nominated. When someone asked him he said it was because he was so popular they didn’t publish his name so the other managers that lost didn’t feel bad…. big fat liar lol In my old local there was a guy who claimed to have had a motorbike accident which tore his lips off, and he had to get them stitched back on again. Only the surgeon stitched them upside down and now he can’t play the saxophone anymore. That’s why he has a beard, to cover the scars.
Though my worst lie was, when I was 17 I passed the Cleveland Cavaliers Cleveland India And Cleveland Browns Cleveland Logo 2024 shirt Additionally,I will love this hard tests for my current job but I was awaiting a criminal investigation so was told the job offer was withdrawn. I then luckily had my record wiped (as I was a youth when it happened) and was able to apply and got my current job at 22. We got talking in work about interviews and I said how I was good at the tests but terrible at interviews and I said “I nearly got in when I was 17 but I failed the interview”… I didn’t want to admit a criminal record. They then turned round and went “there was no interview for that recruitment, if you passed the tests you should have got it”. Oh the back tracking. I have just made myself look like the biggest liar.
One of my husband’s friends insists he’s got a genius level IQ but because he’s dyslexic, he’s never done anything with his huge intellect. I’ve known him almost two decades now and not once has he ever done anything to display even a moderate amount of intelligence, but he still thinks we all believe he’s a genius. My dad moved to Canada when I was about 9. I’d visit him in the Cleveland Cavaliers Cleveland India And Cleveland Browns Cleveland Logo 2024 shirt Additionally,I will love this school holidays. Couple of years later my mum moved so I ended up going to a new school where I didn’t know anyone. Decided it’d make me far more interesting if I had a Canadian accent. It didn’t, I just got the piss taken and spent my first couple of terms trying to engineer a gradual progression from comedy Mountie to the non-descriptive northern brogue I actually talk with.
