If they work midnight-8, they get off at 7 since they put in their eight hours. The opposite happens in springtime, they have to stay until 9 that morning. When I was a midnight police officer, we just came in an hour later since there was a decent amount of overlap between us and evenings. So instead of 9pm-7am, we came in at 10pm and then worked the 10 hours until 7am.

I know how time works lol just because I had a shitty retail job doesn’t mean I can’t count. I know the managers were told to do this because it was the only night of the year they made us fill out our hours worked on a paper time sheet instead of using the time clock. I have never shopped at Walmart since I quit. I hate that place. Went through this many times while I was in the Navy, not from Daylight Savings, but from crossing into different time zones. Those on watch at that time either were on watch an extra hour or got off an hour sooner (total time, not time on the clock).
