I can see those certain characters being ragdolled by Wanda being taken well and not so well by a lot of the fans. From a storytelling standpoint, having these Marvel legends appear for the first time in the MCU only to be used as an example of Wanda’s power and brutality just doesn’t have as much of a cinematic impact as Caps shield breaking or Thor’s hammer cracking. We saw how powerful those items were before they were broken. We grew attached to them. The general audience has had no time with these characters nor have they seen the extent of their powers.

It’s kinda like talking about how strong and important these characters are only to have them die as a benchmark of strength for Wanda. We were only told about that benchmark, we never actually see it. That all being said, it’s still going to be so cool and so fun to watch that it will pull it off and most will be happy with just seeing such an awesome scene. It’s hard to really care about Wanda killing them when we just met them. On paper, it does seem like a cool idea, but most viewers are just gonna see Wanda violently murdering a bunch of random people. To be fair we know how strong professor x is and we know how strong captain marvel is. I think having new appearances is a bit jarring (when Wanda supposedly takes them out), but I also feel like this Illuminati scene serves more as a demonstration of how insane/unhinged she’s become and not so much about how strong she is. Looks like Wanda is the main character, as predicted. Sad that Strange has been pushed to the side in his own movie. Why are people complaining about mixed reactions? This movie was supposed to come out before NWH. Because of NWH this movie was written so many times and there were multiple reshoots. And also the director got replace. Even after so many script changes and a director change this film has done so much better. This movie could’ve flopped or being called garbage by critics but still the results are so positive. If this would’ve come before nwh it could have done so much better but still these results are more than satisfactory. I don’t mean to sound like I’m making excuses for negative reviews but I really think Grace is just trying to stick by her “this film is a mess” scoop. I mean, she starts the video off with a big “I told you so.” I think she went into this movie with a pretty clear bias since she was the one who was constantly saying it would be a disaster due to the heavy reshoots.
