Then there’s the Chinese Lunar New Year Of The Dragon 2024 Happy New Year 2024 T-Shirt and I will buy this people that buy a brand new truck when they have no need to and could instead buy a five year old sedan some grandma only put 10k miles on. There’s also the sort of people that have some sort of substance addiction. Spending significant portions of their paychecks on things like weed(talking about unmediated recreational use), alcohols, cigarettes, vapes, etc. definitely a huge issue for a lot of people. Now. Is it always this easy to reduce expenses. No. A lot of people do live more with in their means and still struggle more than they should. But I wouldn’t be surprised if a significant portion of people under the line could save a much larger portion of their paychecks than they claim. Especially since far fewer people are on the federal minimum wage than is often proported. Considering with only one roommate most people could survive off of only $10/hour. Maybe a bit more in areas like New York or California. (I live in one of those stupid expensive areas. And even $15 an hour is actually more than plenty without sacrificing all that much. Even with my personal rent up to $1450 a month).

Of course starting a family and paying for a kid throws most of this out the Chinese Lunar New Year Of The Dragon 2024 Happy New Year 2024 T-Shirt and I will buy this window. But that’s what birth control and good old fashioned abstinence is for. Having a child when your anywhere close to minimum wage is about as irresponsible. I can barely afford to live with mi fiancee, and we both have what here is considered a median salary. If one of our cars would break down I don’t even know if we would be able to keep both our jobs. We can’t afford a cat. We can’t afford to dine out. Partying is out of the picture. The few occasions we have we spend in cheap escapes around our place. Call me soft, snowflake, whatever you want but this ain’t living, this is surviving. I know there are a lot worse situations but I can’t feel grateful for the resemblance of a life we get. I can’t even afford to see my therapist in a meaninful way since twice a month is already a toll on our expenses. I can’t afford to treat my chronic pain since it’s idiopatic and eveytime the treatment gets more convoluted and expensive, so I’m stuck with cheap alcool and weed to break myself to sleep. If people out there are thriving in such a state of things probably it’s just me, but I just can’t keep holding onto some hope that isn’t there anymore.
