We pay our cleaner £16/hour in London zone 2. We provide all cleaning products etc. This is a regular job for her- 2 hours/week every week! Maybe the extra amount is to include travel time. At least the London Living Wage, unless you want to be a greedy Scrooge. The London Living Wage is currently £13.15 per hour. If you’re a really stingy cnut you could argue that if you pay your cleaner cash in hand, and your cleaner is not paying taxes, then you could offer less than the London Living Wage. But that depends on much of a cnut you are. On the other hand if your cleaner is really good, and you don’t want to lose them, you might want to go higher than the London Living Wage.
