So the Chicago Bears legends Dick Butkus Mike Ditka signatures shirt and I love this idea that Russia is okay with sacrificing equipment and international repution as well as tanking its economy, since Russia holds back its best stuff is asinine to me. If Russia had such great militaristic capabilities, wouldnt Russia have deployed them early on, when the west wasnt sending as many weapons, do achieve a quick victory and force the west to the negotiation table? The other reason their command staff is being specifically targeted. Yeah, you can bring in the “good stuff” later, but if you have no one in control it’s just shiny junk on the ground. they tooootally could have taken Ukraine already with their super modern and superior equipment, they just don’t want to! But just watch all these YouTube war experts… all Russian equipment is super duper and so easy to use and maintain and in such quantity… all the videos explaining how the t-14 Armata is the best tank and the Suchoi has the F-35 beat and so on. And all with a budget a bit larger than Germanys or smaller than Frances. They will roll over Ukraine in 3 days and NATO in Western Europe in a week. You all just watch… That lie used to work in the first weeks of this war, but now even big VDV units are mincemeat in Ukrainian forests. This is why the US War machine is so powerful. M1 Abrams, Blackhawks, and F-35s are not effective if they don’t have the infrastructure and logistics behind them. But, the US has an absurdly large logistics network to handle stuff like this. Russia has clearly shown that they do not have any proper logistics in place. So, this “best equipment” will break down and become completely ineffective in an incredibly short period of time.

And they don’t have that great equipment to begin with. Some is good, most is Cold War stuff poorly maintained. True of every war, actually. You can „win“ (reaching objectives) but if war happened humanity has lost already. to clear up the Chicago Bears legends Dick Butkus Mike Ditka signatures shirt and I love this concern about nukes, there is something you might have heard of called mutually assured destruction, in which the chain of defensive nuclear responses to pretty much ANY initial nuclear strike means that just about everyone who has the chance to respond would be launching nukes at whoever their enemy is, and the whole world would be over. while it’s possible that a person in such high power like Putin is crazy enough that he doesn’t care, for one, it’s actually vastly unlikely. even the very worst peoples desires often boil down their own self preservation, which would include not initiating any kind of nuclear strikes and ending the world.
