It is far better to teach children that all people have worth inherent to them as individual beings outside of any group or collective, and that their rights as individuals come from higher powers than society, or their fellow humans. E.g worker females will try to sneak their own unfertilised eggs into the brood, which is also harshly punished in some species, indicating that it goes against the interests of the community. They have specialized roles, are pre-programmed to die after a set time period, respond to chemical signals to act in co-ordinated actions, use chemical signals to communicate, die without their colony. Sounds a lot like cells to me Not at all, the majority of the colony is sterile with no chance to reproduce and spend their whole lives working to support the small handful that can. They’re definitely working for the hive good (feed queen, sacrifice yourself to keep queen safe, search for food to take home) rather than personal good (reproduce, flee from danger, consume food on the spot)
