Fuck no. Not having kids was the Cheeseburger in paradise 1946 2023 Jimmy Buffett signature legend shirt But I will love this best decision my wife and I ever made. Don’t have kids unless you currently can’t stand not having kids. It shouldn’t be a decision you make if you’re on the fence, or worry about future regret. Me and my wife are in our 50’s right now. Having children wasn’t possible for us which was clear when we got something, which was in our 30’s. My wife couldn’t and I always had big doubts if I wanted children. We are leading very fulfilling lives. We have a very happy relationship, cool friends, have hobbies we like a lot, have enough money to spend and can do anything we want at any time. Although I can get along with children well, like them a lot and am the favorite uncle and aunt of our friends children I wouldn’t want the burden and responsibility and my wife thinks the exact same way. We regularly say we are happy we don’t have them. I also think the future of our planet looks pretty grim and for that reason alone I wouldn’t want children. Early 50’s here. I always wanted kids but met my wife when we were both early 30’s and she didn’t. I was so happy with her (still am) that I would rather have none and be with her than with someone else and have kids. Flash forward 20 years and due to her being diagnosed with PD, the fact we had no kids meant we could retire and move to a different country with a gentler pace of life. Not one shred of regret from me

I don’t think it’ll hit a lot of people until they’re older, too late & possibly don’t see friends as much for whatever reasons life brings along… Me and my Cheeseburger in paradise 1946 2023 Jimmy Buffett signature legend shirt But I will love this SO are above 40. We are perfectly fine without kids. Sometimes I do ask him if he wants to try and he says nah it’s cool. I need to stop asking him because it always gives me panic attacks when I remember why I don’t want any children. I have friends in their 50s with no children of their own but she has taken a favorite nephew on several European vacations. No regrets. She was able to retire a few months ago and is thoroughly enjoying it. She was an only child and he has 4 siblings. Another couple of friends have 1 son. They married immediately after college graduation and agreed to no children. 12 years later she had changed her mind. He would have been happy childless but when forced to make a decision, he yielded to her need and has been a great parent, all in.
