The point of the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this story is that they will find any excuse to increase their profits and the most controllable factor is your staff and their pay. For me, as a man, it’s my experience or me needing to work my way up, etc etc… But it never happens for the same reason women get paid less… Because there is an air of it being a legit excuse, rather than a core level greed to make as much profit as possible. This is a kind of a bogus number. It ignores a ton of factors. A more accurate representation would be to compare wages in a given job. At the very least, the same career field. Women tend to choose more comfortable, less dangerous careers by choice. Dangerous demanding jobs tend to pay more. There is also the fact that women more often stay at home to care for children by choice. At the very least, this understandably slows down career progression.

Really is no gender gap but it’s a great talking point for those that more government involvement in day to day life. Women won’t do certain jobs. Wastewater treatment is almost 100% men. Cement work, garbage collection, pest control, carpentry, bricklaying, logging, and many more physical, dangerous, or disgusting jobs are all overwhelmingly men. The original figure- they literally took all the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this income women made, all the income men made, and divided each by the total number or men and women. Most of the factors not taken out were risk taking, job hopping, and hours worked, which on average men do more of all of these things since women especially ones with kids are less likely to switch jobs frequently or work more hours, whereas married men tend to work more hours than anyone. I’m a 45 year old man. I’ve worked in finance and engineering/procurement/construction project management. I’ve always made slightly less than my female counterparts and worked slightly longer hours. I feel like I’ve outperformed my peers on average, but I acknowledge that I carry bias.
There are a lot of ways to slice this. Older men make more. Older men had more opportunites. Women that leave the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this workforce to raise a kid or work less to balance child raising responsibilities. Women that don’t take less desirable jobs (hard phsyical work, lots of travel, lack of stability) make less. Everything that I’ve seen suggests that equally qualified, relatively young women make comparable money in like for like non-executive situations. Also, if you look at what schools are producing, men are likely on pace to earn less than women in the future. On average, if you compare the *average* man to the *average* woman, disregarding the field, disregarding amount of days taken off work, disregarding maternity leave, then yes, the wage gap is roughly 33%. HOWEVER, when you take into account all these factors, the wage gap ceases to be an issue. Want more money? Work more.

Sex discrimination in salaries has been illegal for 50 years. Women and men work different jobs. Example hospital. Most doctors men most nurses female. Doctors make much more than nurses. If there was, companies would get sued. Also, they would profit by just hiring women. It would be very easy to do so. The so called “wage gap” exists only by taking the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this average income of women vs the average income of men and not controlling for factors such as industry, hours worked, whether you relocated for the job, job stress, etc. The data shows men value money more than women do, and that women value a low stress lifestyle and stability more than men do. The so called wage gap is a natural consequence of people going after what they value the most.
Big troll for idiots and martyrs. One of the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this reason rest of the world considers Americans to be swarming with idiots. Key words “on average statistic.” Exactly. It’s pointless to compare. What matters is if both do a same job at the same workplace and one makes less. Which would be a problem if it was not illegal. You might want to watch the Jordan Peterson and Cathy Newman interview/debate on that. It’s a tad old but not completely outdated. Jordan Peterson was incorrect about a lot of things in that debate and showed that he does not know what he is talking about. Unlearning Economics made a great video about this. Interesting, I’ll give it a watch. I suggested it because scrolling through the comments you can see a lot of people being up the same points as in the video I assume they’re talking about average incomes because women work fewer hours, women taking breaks to raise kids and those really high paying jobs where you have to negotiate your salary women getting worse outcomes. Because at my job we have the set award for our roles and paying anyone less than me would literally be illegal haha These days it’s generally women working lesser paid jobs like being teachers. I’m sure a wage gap exists somewhere still but I think (maybe I’m wrong) it’s away harder for companies to get away with that now.
It comes from a questionable study that simply took a snapshot of women’s wages vs men’s wages, with little or no attempt to control for other variables. Later studies have accounted for those variables and the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this “wage gap” shrunk to almost nothing. It’s an untrue statement. Controlling for as much as possible, the pay gap shrinks to ~5%. That’s for the same job under the same circumstances. That 5% can easily be attributed to the fact that women are less likely to negotiate for raises or higher pay on starting a job. Worked in a few medical offices and hospitals overseeing accounting, and it’s absolutely true. Same experience, same job, same title, women earned a few DOLLARS less even at the lowest tier. Never mind the ten to twenty thousand a year gap in the higher up jobs. It exists EXACTLY the way they say it does, not because women take less hours or have different jobs in the same field.
Honestly, people need to stop justifying sexism by claiming wage gap doesn’t exist or technically it makes sense. It doesn’t. That statement conflates things. Within the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this same profession, there is usually either no pay gap, or the women actually make more. Women just tend towards working in lower paying professions. In certain industries, there are simply just more men doing the jobs. Oil field, mining, plumbing, construction. the study 77¢ study is regarding woman working the same job position and time as men, not across all jobs. if it was all jobs it would be much much bigger as 68% of ceos are men There is no gender wage gap, it’s misinformation used for political gain – it’s more or less lying with statistics Women don’t get paid less for doing the same job as a man, women go into fields and get jobs that pay less than men on average Its complete bullshit and doesnt account for lifestyle or biological choices. Women raise kids, women dont kill themselves with work, women arent as assertive. They make less overall than a man, sure, but theres literally nothing wrong with that. True discrimination in the workplace is almost nonexistant in 2024 even in comparison to the year 2000. If a woman and a man work the same amount, do the same amount, with the same backgrounds, theyll make the same amount of money. Its false and misleading to talk about a gap in pay when its entirely a woman’s choice to not drown herself in work like men tend to. Its also why youll not see more than one woman, maybe, pouring concrete, roofing, framing, tending to lawns, going up on power lines, or taking a dozen other extremely lucrative careers that are much more difficult, dangerous, and body ruining than being a teacher or cashier.
Fuck its irritating hearing the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this same old bullshit points being thrown about as if they have any meaning anymore. Looking purely at end of year salary yes the average man does make a dollar for every 70 so cents a woman makes but it doesn’t include the variables. Overtime,vacation/sick days, etc. Most of the stats I’ve seen, end up quoting people at a particular place, such as a hospital, which ends up being nurses vs doctors for some stupid reason. The ones that don’t, it’s including maternity leave, more days off (allegedly), not negotiating a raise (allegedly), women leaving early to be stay at home mums, and in other cases, women straight up getting paid less. But in the latter cases, it’s usually quite a lot less.
I do not know if this is true across the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this board or not, but I know that in my family, if one of the kids is sick and an adult needs to take the day off to deal with it, it has almost always been my wife, even when she made more money than I did. It only accounts for a few shifts a year, but I can see a situation where a mother is only able to work part time and the father works full time only because there is a health issue with a child From my experience, childcare costs are insane, in the UK it’s like £1500 p/m until they are 3 years old, it often makes sense for 1 parent to cut back on hours, women tend to marry older and older people tend to make more money, so the younger parent, usually the woman takes a detrimental career decision.
It compares earnings of men broadly to earnings of women broadly without controlling for factors such as hours worked or type of job worked, and men are more likely to go into higher paying higher stress environments so they just make more broadly speaking. Men are also going to be working more hours, and they don’t have maternity leave so they aren’t having that time off work either Women who have children are affected by this in greater numbers. Earnings or pay disparities exist in all fields to some degree, but those differences aren’t as vast when women don’t have children. Add on the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this fact that the United States has no national paid family leave policy like most of the Western world, and you’re left with a society that values work over health. It’s really confusing and annoying when you research how other countries afford to pay for things like healthcare for its people because when it comes to the U.S., Republicans in particular, lack the political will needed to implement these vital changes.
Women generally earn less (in a lifetime) due to taking time out of their work to start/raise a family more often they do this than the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this male does. This gets ignored in a lot of the wage gap conversations and the myth of employer based sexist policies continues. That an average men earns more than an average women in itself is not a problem, as this comes highly likely from priorities in the selection of job (i want to earn vs i want a job that makes me happy) as well as part time work which is much higher with women and thus creates a cut in pay as well as if you stop working for 10 years and having an work experiecne gap. It is only a problem when a female doctor and a male doctor with similar position, similar experience and education have not the same wage, which is even illegal in a lot of countries. I think these comparisons are across the entirety and not comparing apples with apples. I work as teacher and all pay scales apply to everyone there is no gender differences.
Women are more likely to take time off to raise kids, that’s around ten years or so of no income. Women are also much much more likely to work as teachers and social workers which pays poorly compared to men who are more likely to work in finance and sales. Per hour and flat salary they get paid the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this same for the same job. I mean men work longer hours on average at the same job . Things like world soccer where womans soccer brings in millions and mens soccer brings in billions is another information travesty. Step 2: Realize that pay disparity between CEO’s and ground level workers is way more than anything else that people want to distract you with. Anecdotal but I’ve seen that men prioritize salary way, waaaaay above the rest of the points. So much that men would go and work on oil rigs, mines and other hazardous environments just for money. Many will work for companies that throw money but also suck souls out of their employees. Many will work under a terrible boss, tell themselves that they will do it only for a year or so because the money is good. Far fewer women do the same. That’s also why women tend to be more satisfied, less stressed than men with their jobs. a lot of people talking here with only a half understanding of what it means. the study that originally showed that stated that when you look at men and women working the same position for similar amounts of time working similar amounts of ours, would have the women earning 77% of what the men make. recently people have started to argue this was a study about all men and all women in the work force which isn’t true (other studies have been done this way but not the 77¢ per dollar one)
if there were actually a study going across all earnings of men to all earnings of woman it would likely be a significantly bigger gap as 68% of ceos are men For older generations it used to be true but for college age people it’s actually starting to go the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this other way. What immediately comes to mind is labor, construction, physical jobs wherr employers do have room to differentially pay employees based on their sex/gender. There are published results of pay inequity from across the world detailing results that you can access for free from the UN library. Economist here. The first part is true the second part is a lie. On average women make less than men for a variety of reasons. The main reasons are job title, years of experience, and hours worked. About 2% is unexplained and could be discrimination or something else we haven’t considered. Some people (rightly or wrongly) have argued those others reasons above are also discrimination because women are less likely to get promoted (job title), drop out of the job market to raise kids (years of experience), and spend more time on childcare (hours worked). In the video I saw, they went one step further and analyzed college education as well. Where they found out that degrees with higher paying jobs were mostly comprising of men and otoh degrees with lower paying jobs were mostly comprising of women In my experience companies don’t actually offer us what they’re willing to pay us. Some people are very confident and willing to negotiate up their salaries. other people are not. At my gfs company they found they were underpaying asian employees, probably for that reason. A correlation between personality types with other factors can definitely contribute to such a gap. If men are more likely to have a personality type that is aggressive and confident, then they’d be more likely to get paid more for example.
It’s important to note the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this 77 cents pay gap is not the one the above explains. The pay gap is much smaller when you consider both the jobs people have and gaps in working for child raising. The only place things like this are likely to happen are small businesses. Ive got 2 friends who used to work at a local pizza place. They were told to not discuss wages. One friend, a small latina, had worked there for a year or 2. Then my other friend, a big white dude started working there. After some time, he had casually mentioned his paycheck to her anger. Despite working there longer, she was being payed less. That boss is an absolute prick though. Everyone hates him Idk how it is where you folks are, but what I see and hear most often in Canada is that you need to be assertive in pay negotiations and women rarely are. We’re socialized to not be, and so even when we try to be, it’s rarely as solid. This also applies to asking for raises, with women doing it less often as less effectively. So let’s say starting wage was $18-$24/hr and by chance they hire 5 men and 5 women for this position. Behaving as above, 2 women take $18, 2 take $20, 1 takes $22. For the men, let’s say 2 take $18, 1 takes $20, 1 $22, and 1 $24. Clearly, men are already making more. 6 months in, 3 of the men are confident (socialized behaviour) and itemize their achievements (duck-to-water socialized male way of presenting information rather than, say, hoping like a woman people will notice what they’ve done) and point out extra work they’ve put in (often because they can and often the women’s home responsibilities make it that they ‘can’t’ in equal measure, else theyre labelled uncaring children, bad partners, terrible mothers, absentee friends…) and those guys each get a $1/hr bump. Contract negotiations come up at a year, pattern generally continues. Remember, if she takes maternity leave, she probably looses a whole cycle of potential increase. If he takes leave, it’s probably shorter, more like a long vacation, and he doesn’t lose out on that. Actually, he also is seen as oh-so-progressive and supportive and people notice he now ‘has more mouths to feed’ and might give him a bump. For her, it’s taken as par for the course, and people worry how often she’ll take days off because kid is sick or cut out early for a doctor’s appointment (even if she will make it up later). The framing is different. And the gap often widens over time.
As I said, not everywhere, I’m sure. Not all the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this time, I’m sure. But this is what I see and hear often. And of course, we often get mansplained at to ‘just’ do what the guys are doing, as though our conditioned softness will disappear overnight and we won’t just be labelled btchs for it. I think the term got twisted into what you heard. The study is that they do make less. But not doing the exact same job. They tend to make less because they pick fields that make less (RN, Teacher, Psychologist, etc.) At least, that’s my understanding. I work in an industry that is very liberal and diverse (thankfully) and see women and men making very equal levels of pay for the same job. People using stats incorrectly. I’m not sure if it still rings true to the number but I do believe median pay was at some point .76:1. However, that never was talking about people doing the same job just what the genders were earning compared to each other. I vaguely remember reading a number of something like .95-.98:1 when normalized for career choice, hours worked, OT hours worked, leave taken, etc. The gender pay gap is a combination of actual sexism in pay, careers and career advancement, that sexism being increasingly a historical artifact but which still impacts the compensation of older generations, disparities between the careers that men and women choose to pursue and disparities in how men and women approach work life balance in general.
Add in some bad math chosen for inflammatory feminist rhetoric rather than a true account of sexist pay discrimination and you have the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this Gender Pay Gap. The more you account for other variables, the more the gap shrinks. View it generationally and it is clear that the gap is reversing for the younger generations. When we calculate the Gender Pay Gap as a basic raw difference between the total earnings of each gender, it would be weird if the gender who works more, works harder and takes bigger risks didn’t also earn more. Nowadays, higher education is completely dominated by women, though engineering fields continue to be a primarily male field of interest. With this we are already seeing a reversal of traditionally male high earning professions.
The largest roadblock will continue to be that many women do still want to have kids and they actually want to raise them rather than pay someone else, which imposes a costly career gap. The wage gap is real, but the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this 77 cents on the dollar is flawed. They got that number from taking the entire work forces for both genders and getting the average. In high paying executive jobs and stem Jobs, there is a huge disparity since historically women didn’t take those jobs. Thankfully that is changing. But if you were to isolate hospitality, and other jobs where the genders are about equal, the pay is about equal as well Most of the difference comes from industry selection and experience. Studies that claim the “77%” figure claim to take this into account but that is a lie. The real difference is more like 6%, and that can mostly be attributed to men asking for more during the negotiation phase of the interview, whereas women are more likely to just accept the first offer and not make a higher counter-offer.
I asked my boss once why my colleague, a man, was making more than me and he said “Well, he’s got a family to support”. I don’t know if that was sexism or just discrimination against a single person with no kids. Not sure if it’s the Cats playing Mahjong all in or nothing shirt so you should to go to store and get this same now and it’s definately was illegal back then but that didn’t stop employers asking if I had family or a boyfriend (trying to figure out if I was going to be popping out kids anytime soon / maternity pay) .. You can get passed over for roles for lots of reasons but if an employer thinks you’ll be off on maternity leave soon, they won’t hire you. My mum’s generation (born in 1966) had to take pregnancy tests as part of the routine screening for factory jobs.
