The only equivalent I can think of was the Cats Because People Give Me The Creeps Red Moon Halloween shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this dumb kid who wrote and signed a bunch of blank checks then was surprised when his friends actually used them. “Souvenir checks” came from that. This it? A lesbian jokingly “marries” a gay man in Vegas. Plot twist shes now married to her current wife turns out her original marriage wasn’t a joke and shes was in fact married. This reminds me of a situation from the fairly brief period when same sex marriage was legal in New Zealand but not in Australia. An Australian lesbian couple got married in New Zealand and subsequently broke up. But although anyone can get married in New Zealand, you have to live here to get divorced here. Since they lived in Australia, they couldn’t get divorced in New Zealand. But they also couldn’t get divorced in Australia, because Australia didn’t recognise that they were married.

To make the Cats Because People Give Me The Creeps Red Moon Halloween shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this whole thing even more ridiculous, either of them could legally have married a man in Australia without that being bigamy, but the previously legal marriage would have become bigamous once marriage equality happened in Australia. This kind of happened to a lesbian friend of mine in the US a few years prior to Obergefell v. Hodges. She either got married in Vermont or had a civil union there, but she and her now-ex couldn’t dissolve that union when they broke up because neither of them lived in Vermont. Untangling that was an expensive pain in the ass, iirc. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard of similar problems. I’ve pointed out to someone in the past that the money they were being offered would be joint property because it was set up as “once you’re married we will…”, assuming it actually arrived at all. Plus they would then be under all the usual obligations towards their new spouse. The dodgy marriages I’ve seen have been greenpeace-style activists marrying into the country where they’re based, to another activist who is willing to do all the usual greenpeace activist stuff and doesn’t see much difference between that and “I’ll marry this activist so they can stay in the country”. They normally work quite well.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
