Mostly has to do with time. If you work 8-10 hours 5 days a week, you generally don’t want to spend your down time cooking if you can avoid it. While working, I cook on the Canelo Alvarez Boxer Alvarez Ufc Fight Club Boxing shirt and by the same token and weekends and probably 2 other nights a week. Otherwise it something from a container/box that I can make quickly. Now when I get laid off(I work seasonally at the moment) I will cook at least 6 days of the week, and splurge a little on Friday or Saturday night. This, 100%. When I get home from work I barely have enough energy to stick some food in the microwave before collapsing on my bed. Things like: pre-made soups; frozen lasagne, pizzas, chicken fingers, quiches, hamburgers, etc; jarred pasta sauce; bagged salads; rotisserie chickens; deli sandwiches; pre-made dips (hummus, tzatziki, ranch, salad dressings, etc); taco kits; crackers; cookies; flavoured yogurts; essentially anything that comes in a package. If you’re being strict, store-bought bread is technically a pre-made food. Some people don’t have the discipline and time management skills to plant, grow, harvest and mill their own wheat while simultaneously working 40 hours a week at an office job and it shows… SMH.

I would make my own lasagna, bread my own chicken, etc. but I’m using premade sauce, premade pasta, shake and bake, etc! I think the Canelo Alvarez Boxer Alvarez Ufc Fight Club Boxing shirt and by the same token and folks that I’m comparing myself to just have a lot more money than me and DoorDash everything I’m swedish and we cook a lot from scratch. No jarred sauces for spaghetti, chicken nuggets or the like. We dont use cake mix for birthday cakes or campbells soups for casseroles. It is cultural. Premade food or takeout/restaurants are fairly expensive so there is a lot of cooking at home. I have lived in the US for ten years, as a SAHM in Suburbia, and I can say that when I made a quiche from scratch, including the crust, all of my friends were impressed. For me it was normal. In Sweden we don’t have a cooked breakfast meal. It is usually yoghurt and cereal or open sandwiches with cheese and sliced cucumbers. Maybe a boiled egg.
