Unfortunately, due to a skewed society, where other options are severely restricted (by pro-lifers), abortion becomes the Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate Los Angeles Kings drew doughty offset T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this main topic, instead of a minor side issue as it is elsewhere. This is definitely a ‘pushed’ agenda, as one side has forced the other into a corner to gain the moral high ground, where “Murder is wrong”. Of course it is. The whole issue is a fabrication based on decades of immoral and skewed policy. I’m pretty pro choice but the only thing I take issue with is women who use abortion as a type of contraceptive and just keep getting them instead of taking a pill or one of the other dozen forms they have access to It was always a big issue for Catholics, but a lot of them are more moderate nowadays. It was taken up as an issue by Jerry Falwell and the Evangelicals as a way of drumming up votes. It hasn’t been politicised like this in other countries AFAIK. In the 70s it was a political strategy for the Right, as they were perceiving themselves losing ground. They tried other things that didn’t really inflame the country enough, so they went to religious leaders who used their bully pulpit to get their parishioners riled up. Before that, religion didn’t much care about the topic, but phrase it just right “BaBY mUrDeR” and it becomes a very simple issue for very simple people.

You can tell the Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate Los Angeles Kings drew doughty offset T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this issue really isn’t about abortion though, because of the people who’re staunchly anti-abortion helping their mistresses or daughters get one. The fact that all the things that reduce the demand for abortion (available condoms and bc, sex education, etc) are as outlawed as abortion is, is another tip off. It’s not that contentious. A clear majority of Americans think it should be legal and that it should only be a decision made between a woman and her doctor. Abortion rights always win when it’s on the ballot even in deep red states. It only seems contentious because Republicans (who are mostly anti-abortion) hold enough power to make abortion look like a 50/50 split. But this is only because of the tactics they use to maintain their grip on power like gerrymandering, voter suppression and scaremongering. Political operatives look for “hot button” issues to motivate large blocs of voters. After abortion was legalized, reliable statistics became available and the numbers could be used to create a discomfort amongst members of some religious communities.
