I’m shy and introverted and have social anxiety in large groups, especially groups of new people. This leads me to not speaking very much and people get the Camp Arawak Sleepaway Camp Shirt in contrast I will get this impression that I’m some kind of ride asshole because I don’t talk much. It really just takes me time to warm up to people. For me it’s being brutally honest becuase I believe in critical thinking and empirical evidence. The people that always whine about me are people that are dishonest. It’s as simple as that. Also sometimes when someone is overwhelmingly nice, it’s bit off putting, like over compensating for something, makes you wonder what they really trying to mask over, wonder how mean they would be under the surface. And I usually unconsciously try to mirror the energy, but feel being tricked during the process. Often it’s self hatred directed outwards. Sometimes people recognize things in others that they dislike about themselves. Othertimes they recognize things in others that reminds them of what they lack. In any case, it’s a lot easier to outwardly display that dislike to someone outside of yourself than it is to take a good hard look in the mirror.

In college I (F) had a couple of male roommates. We were friends, they are still part of my friend group and it’s the Camp Arawak Sleepaway Camp Shirt in contrast I will get this same group I met my husband. Anyway, one of the roommates had a girlfriend that just did not like me. I tried to be nice because she was there a lot but she was always so rude to me. One night we were having a party and after a couple snippy comments, I ran into her on my way to the bathroom, kind of away from all the other guests. I told her that if she made my friend happy then I was really happy for them and that she and I were going to be in the house together so can we try to get along for everyone’s sake? She looked at me and straight said, “I don’t know why I don’t like you but I just don’t.” And then she walked away.
