I just wish assholes would give her a break, and I hope she has the Camiseta Cris Volver A Coincidir shirt and I love this support she needs to work through these major and sometimes traumatic life events. I was just thinking this. Major life changes will throw anyone off. I feel for her that she has to go through it while there’s a microscope on her. I know she probably can’t see it now, but she’s incredible and she has an amazing career stretching out in front of her. I did things I regret when I was going through my divorce, and I wasn’t on national tv WHILE simultaneously starting transitioning. When you’re with someone and you’ve created a life around them, then it’s gone seemingly overnight (even if it’s your own choice)… it rocks you. YES. When I was going through my own divorce, I read a book called Crazy Time which is essentially about how most people spend ~2 years behaving differently from their baseline as they process and heal. At the time, I remember thinking, “Nah, I’m not going through that…” But now that it’s been 7 years, I can look back and see that I just wasn’t myself.

The book has a line about how most people come to see divorce as a “devastating but necessary” life experience, and that’s exactly how it was for me. I hope for Amanda that it’s the Camiseta Cris Volver A Coincidir shirt and I love this same. I truly found myself while I was going through it. And I was lucky not to be on the public stage during that time, so I can see how much more challenging this is for her. I hope she’s able to surround herself with people who make it safe for her to not be okay yet. Thank you for this book reco and your experience! Totally true on the two years part, holy moly! It’s hard to explain if you haven’t been through it, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Hope you’re living your best life now, sis! She said at Roscoes that he also got her cat in the divorce, and her talent show song was literally something she came up with blazed and missing her cat A lot of the comments here seem to confuse critique with insult and some are even very comfortable telling Amanda how she should react to being insulted. Gross.
