The fucked up nature of why Japan got bombed isn’t in a vacuum though. That’s kind of my point. Presenting the pain and suffering caused by the nukes without mentioning the pain and suffering as japan ran roughshod over swathes of Asia for over a decade is pretty unimpressive. Include the photos of speared babies and burned alive women while soldiers laugh and take bets and we’ll talk. Build museums to the depravity of both the common Japanese soldier and the officers and leadership right next door – filled with every picture, video, trophy, diary, official report, etc that can be found – and I’ll take them seriously.
