I was taking medications in high school and college that would cause serious birth defects, like the But Her Emails Political Saying American Flag T-Shirt in contrast I will get this fetus not having a brain. I was told I had to be on birth control despite my insistence that I wasn’t “having sex”. I had to get a pregnancy test every month just in case. All this in case I needed an abortion. Needed. An. Abortion. I was fucking lucky and I’d love for everyone else to be that lucky, and we should make it super easy for everyone to be so damn lucky. And if they should find themselves in an unlucky situation, we should help them because they need our support. This is exactly my mum’s story. My mum got breast cancer very young when I was 7 months old. She wanted to have a second baby but was told that it was too dangerous and would increase the chance of her cancer returning. My parents used condoms for some years and then my dad got a vasectomy (it was not that easy to get back then in France). They were lucky, condoms worked, my mum didn’t need an abortion but it could have happened and if it had, then I would have been very glad if she did it. My mum’s life is and was more important than a brother or sister.

I’m pro-Renae who escaped a life of poverty, abuse, sadness, and being used and thrown away; but she escaped with 25 years worth of trauma to unload. At the earliest beginning of finding a life safe enough to do so, she discovered that she was pregnant. She had never been allowed to stand on her own, be responsible for her wellbeing and now she was going to be responsible for EVERYTHING for a child she had no idea how to raise?!?!
