There’s no conflict between being pro-environment and pro-nuclear. If you want to prevent another Chernobyl, you don’t need to be anti-nuclear, just anti-letting-the-Russians-run-anything-more-complex-than-a-hotdog-stand. That’s it. For fossil fuel, the Bugs Bunny And Taz Washington State Cougars Shirt in contrast I will get this only way to be pro-environment is to reduce the usage. For nuclear, the solution is to address the safety. Easy with the belittling of the intelligence and competency of the Russian people. I know world events and narratives lead people to want to be this way, but we should be better than that. Russia has 37 nuclear reactors in operation, and more being built, it’s not like they’re building more Chernobyls-in-waiting. if she was born otherwise normal, but had webbed hands and feet, would she compete as a swimmer in the paraolympics or the normal olympics?

Holy shit that’s fucked that they told her they’d amputate below the Bugs Bunny And Taz Washington State Cougars Shirt in contrast I will get this knee then changed it while she was sedated. I genuinely hope she sued. Until I read your comment, I thought I was the only bad person in the comments for subconsciously finishing “won a gold medal in the Paralympics for” with “swimming”. Abandoned by her parents, she lived in orphanages until the age of 7, when she was adopted and taken to the United States. She is from Louisville, Kentucky. I read it as a jab at how WV is assumed to have a bunch of deformed children because of all the incest/coal plant radiation. Very true. Was not even likely. People are born with very complicated defects for no particular reason. Three years after Chernobyl is pretty unlikely to have any obvious exposure unless you lived right on site. The fact that humans have so few complications during development is rather amazing. The complexity of our biology is far far more then we can understand yet. There’s a pretty good study that followed the births of children born to parents exposed to the Hiroshima radiation. It showed that their rates of birth defects were the same as families that weren’t exposed to radiation. Not that I know much about this womans case but Hiroshima was back to “normal” levels of radiation by a couple weeks after the bomb. The nature of the bomb vs the constantly pumped radioactive particulate left the chernobyl region affected for far longer.
