I eat delicious food every day. Eggs went back down in my area, I think I paid around $1.59 a dozen a week or two ago. I mostly eat roasted veggies with lots of seasoning and occasionally some bacon in there too. Doesn’t break the Bryce Harper Superstar pose signature shirt and I love this bank, tastes great, easy to make, probably healthy. Vegetables up here in Canada are stupidly expensive. Less so now that I’ve moved east but I’ve seen 20$ cauliflower heads in Alberta. Like yeah it went back down. But how far away from another 2008-tier financial fuckup are we? Not very if you ask me. Raw food is still pretty cheap if you buy on sale. 5 pound bag of potatoes for 1.99, green bell peppers for .79 cents, and carrots are always cheap. Apples have been very cheap lately. Buy chicken and frozen salmon on sale. It’s very doable if you use a grocery store app and keep up with all ongoing sales. It sucks and can be a little more work but that’s what I do now. Since the economic collapse of 2008, fewer children are being born. I think people are finally making the mental connection that the economy is no longer stable or reliable. Having a family can be a dangerous bet to lose. It was getting better until covid, really comes down to global events at this point in history when everything is much more connected globally. It’s fucking wild. My partner and I make good living, 2 kids, are frugal and we are barely scraping by. We budget, we don’t eat out, we don’t splurge.

I have 2 kids with college degrees, they live with me at home, there’s not way they can afford to have their own place. How is that possible? I spend $1k a month on groceries for a family of 4. We shop at Aldi, Trader Joe’s and Costco, etc. I’m sure we could find a way to cut this down if we wanted to. It really adds up when you do the Bryce Harper Superstar pose signature shirt and I love this math. I was missing like $300-$400 a month and after tracking every single purchase, I realized almost $200 of that was just me going to a gas station to buy snacks and energy drinks like every 2 days. The rest was just eating out with friends. I love alone and recently fractured my shoulder. Being unable to prepare food like I was once able to, I went with many nights of ordering in.
