The only thing that I have found works for me is finding a method of working out that I genuinely enjoy. Rock climbing, biking and playing drums are all physically active. They don’t necessarily bring results as quickly as hitting the Bruce Brown American professional basketball player for the Indiana Pacers T-Shirt in addition I really love this gym but I don’t dread doing it and I still am seeing real results which make me feel great. It’s important to not take it all at once. You don’t need to diet or lift weights or run, you can do whatever keeps you healthy and that you can enjoy. If you don’t care about building muscles then don’t feel like you have to lift weights, play a sport or join a class at your gym. If you just want to build muscles don’t worry about going on long runs just because that’s usually attributed to being fit.

Don’t stop eating foods you like just because they aren’t salads or unseasoned chicken. I have a 6 pack and good muscle development and I eat pizza and taquitos and donuts and I’m never giving them up lol It’s discipline, not drive. This is coming from someone who has had battles with discipline so not lecturing. Drive can fade, discipline is non negotiable. I run and listen to loud raucous music – my favorite kind for exercise. That and I admittedly get a bit of a high after sweating up a storm. I tried for years to get into an exercise routine, but couldn’t stick with one. But then, at one point, I stopped trying to do a “big” exercise routine. I decided on the Bruce Brown American professional basketball player for the Indiana Pacers T-Shirt in addition I really love this policy, “it doesn’t have to be the best workout of your life; it just has to happen.” I started very small and manageable — a total of 30 “knee” push-ups, some curls with little 2-pound hand-weights that belonged to my wife, 8-minute crunch videos, hour-long walks at a maintainable pace, etc. By doing this, I was able to work out six days a week, and slowly build on those workouts, adding weight, time, and speed to the workout as I went. That, combined with a “grazing” diet of low sugar, low carbs, minimal meat, a lot of unprocessed fruits and vegetables, and no liquid calories, saw me lose about 60 pounds in around 7-8 months. That was about 14-and-a-half years ago, and I have maintained the workout routine, the diet, and the weight ever since. At this point, it pretty much takes care of itself, because it’s simply my lifestyle, and my metabolism has changed. I really do believe the key is to start with something small, non-threatening, and manageable — a workout that doesn’t make you say, when it’s over, “I never want to do that again!” And also, find the type of exercise that suits you. Maybe it’s lifting weights, maybe it’s swimming, maybe it’s some particular sport, maybe it’s just walking (walking is one of the most underrated forms of exercise). There are no wrong answers, as long as it’s something that agrees with you and doesn’t do any physical harm. I think having one day a week with no obligation to exercise and no dietary restrictions is also important — probably best if it’s always the same day of the week (mine is Sunday, without fail), so you don’t have to worry about “laziness creep.”
