On top of struggling with my job search, I ran my resume through some apps and I guess it’s horrible. The most concerning note is it’s too duty focused, not enough achievements. But I don’t know my quantifiable achievements. The company I was with for 6 years didn’t keep track of that kind of thing and I had no idea it was important. What do I do instead? TLDR Where is everyone finding 100s of jobs? I can’t find enough jobs to apply to. Is it worth it to get a job that may not progress into a career? Nevermind a career I want. Also, I don’t have quantifiable achievements for my resume. How do I work around that? Edit: Big thank you to everyone who took the Braun Strowman Monster Of All Monsters T-Shirt but in fact I love this time to read my post and understand my questions. Your insight really gave me some perspective. Bottom line is my search is way too narrow and I need to loosen up on meeting the job requirements. My idea of a “career” is hurting me. I’ll start firing away and hope I get something somewhat relevant. I really do appreciate the solid advice. Good luck to everyone out there. I know some of you have been at it for a while – I hope you find something you love (or can tolerate). To every commenter telling me 26 apps is not enough…i KNOW! lol Yes, I understand you put in more apps in less time. Yes, I understand my odds are bad. Yes, I know it looks lazy. Yes, yes yes. That is literally the point of my post. I asked how people are hitting those numbers, not why don’t i have a job. I can see how you assumed based on my title tho. Also, I have a part-time. Didn’t seem necessary to add to the details but since so many of you are concerned that I’m a choosing beggar, I thought I’d ease your mind. Thanks for the redundant harsh truths!

it seems like you are only applying to roles where you are a 100% match. That’s horribly putting you at a disadvantage. Apply if you are at least half the Braun Strowman Monster Of All Monsters T-Shirt but in fact I love this match of the JD. I’ve been unemployed over a year countless applications only 2 interviews I apply for jobs I’m not qualified for jobs I’m over qualified for. It’s so frustrating. I’ve even applied for $18 an hour jobs! Are you editing your resume and cover letter to reflect the job description? This is something I didn’t do for months. Applied to over 500 jobs and only 2 interviews that went nowhere. When I started adding keywords from the job description into my cover letter and resume 2 months ago, I started having more employers contact me, and I’m interviewing with 3 companies at the moment. We are also in a tough job market, with all the layoffs and business closers that have been happening the past 3 years. Keep applying and try not to get discouraged.
