We used to export way more beef until the Boston Cannons 2024 Premier Lacrosse League Championship Series Winners shirt and I love this early 2000s. Then a brilliant politician decided to close beef exports in order to flood the national market with beef, thus (hoping to) significantly lower the price of beef so Juan Pueblo could afford a lot of cuts at cheap prices. It worked… for about six months. Beef producers saw the writing on the wall and liquidated 11,000,000 heads of cattle and used the fields for soy or other crops. Beef exports fell below Uruguay and beef became very expensive. Almost twenty years later, we still haven’t fully recovered.

Its beacause the Boston Cannons 2024 Premier Lacrosse League Championship Series Winners shirt and I love this exchange rate disparity between official (about 370 per USD) and “blue” (About 850-950 per USD, Illegal, and the one every person can really acces) Producer export 1000 USD, governent cash it and give the producer 370.000 pesos (1000USD*370 official EExchang Rate) (you can’t in Argentina cash USD directly for your exports, not even remote workers working for the US for example, it will be converted to pesos at official rate) So, from the get go, government cut your gains in half, and the taxes are applied over the USD further lowering the pesos received. As of 2023, being a election year, government is playing with the official rate to agriculture exporters to “benefit them” and win votes.
