The Boston Bruins made history on Tuesday night as Linus Ullmark became the first goalie in franchise history to score a goal. Ullmark’s tally came with just over two minutes remaining in the third period of the Bruins’ 6-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks. The goal was a thing of beauty, as Ullmark corralled the puck behind his own net, skated the length of the ice, and then fired a shot past Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko.

Ullmark’s goal was a fitting end to a night in which he was outstanding. The Swedish netminder made 33 saves on 35 shots, and he was particularly sharp in the third period when the Bruins were clinging to a one-goal lead. Ullmark’s goal was also a big boost for the Bruins, who have struggled to score goals lately.

The Bruins have now won two straight games and are 4-2-1 in their last seven games. They are currently in third place in the Atlantic Division, three points behind the Toronto Maple Leafs.
